The ceiling at the Sky News Centre in Australia isn't very high. there are light boxes in that ceiling but only for presenters, however they are on very low which means its not very bright. there have been times though when they've accidentally turned the lights up which makes it bright. AS for the rest of the lighting well its all around the pillars and each corners etc. and there are those little circular lights in the newsroom!

I'll never understand the logic of shoving Chris Roberts into the wilderness of weekend presentation.

Only tuned in at the end - he was giving Brazier a real hard time by shouting over him and saying that Sky, while "not as bad as the BBC" kept repeating certain things bout the war I think it was, and that it was bloody ridiculous. Something like that anyway; sorry i cant go into further detail, only caught the last minute or so - god knows why they invited him back on.

I think the interview may have been terminated prematurely as a result, as straight after there was a break (about 11:52 it must have been) before there being another one at 11:55.

I saw the interview in full and Colin really handled himself well, very calm and collected.

Galloway on the other hand, well lets just say he was his usual self, rude, opinionated, not answering questions, ranting, raving etc.

From Media Guardian..

Sky News is cutting back its Irish news service, launched two years ago at a cost of £2m, with the loss of 24 jobs.
The two Dublin-based nightly news bulletins on Sky News Ireland will be dropped as part of cut-backs, which were announced to staff today.

Sky News Ireland's editorial staff of 29 is expected to be cut back to four journalists based in Dublin and one in Belfast.

The 6pm news bulletin had an average audience of just 6,000 in the first six months of this year, with 17,000 people tuning in for the 10pm bulletin.

Sky News Ireland was launched in May 2004 at a cost of €3m euros (£2m), the London-based news channel's biggest overseas investment.

The broadcaster said today it was looking to "refocus" its coverage of Irish news by integrating the output of its Dublin and Belfast bureaux into its main channel. The Irish news bulletins will end on November 30.

The head of Sky News, John Ryley, said the "decision to change direction is a difficult one but our commitment to choice and innovation means that we will always take risks and try new ideas".

He said Sky News Ireland had produced a "high-quality product, some outstanding journalism and attracted a loyal audience".

having a bulletin at 6.30pm is stupid, why directly compete with RTE and TV3? They should have left it at 7pm.

EDIT: i forgot it was at 6.30
