I think that the relaunch presentation was a bit like a rollacoster, here there and everywhere in a flash. However now, the presentation is as dull as anything. They need to go inbetween these two, and they will be awesome. Not too much, but not too little movement.

I do miss the three presenters though, ok, they didnt pick the right presenters *cough* Ginny *cough* however, if they did, It would have been an original and fantastic format for SNT AM or something.

and the newswall, during the day, is usually used at least once.

Thats my point exactly - that is supposed to be one of the most iconic pices of eqipment that sky news has, something that can encapsulate the very essence of sky news with it simply being there and they only use it once a day - bah disgusting - now whilst I'm not saying that they should go anchoring the whole 24hrs from the newswall walkway there is such a thing as moderation

I must say having the 'walking over to the desk' part in the opening of Sky News today certainly makes the whole show interesting! Very Happy

I hear Mr Holmes has put on a few pounds too since they stopped the gentle walk.

How on earth does a 5 second shot of somebody walking down some steps make the whole show interesting? Confused

As for the news screen behind them...it does its job...it displays pictures relating to the topic they are talking about. Just because they aren't standing 30cm away from it with a clipboard and a moving camera shot doesn't make it any less effective.

When I turn on mid story I can see at instantly what they are talking about just by looking at the image behind them.

The only thing that bugs me about Sky News these days is that every time they use the strap at the bottom they use the red and white one which makes it much harder to see when they have a breaking news story (even though yesterday they had Madonna interview in America as breaking news Rolling Eyes )

It certainly beats having the anchor 'anchored' to the desk thru out isnt it. Cool

But its whats made them different to the competition...and if you don't believe how well it wroks and is 'respected' by other broadcasters may I point you towards the ITV theatre of news thing and the current BBc news studio.

People say that its all about style , and take the mick, but thats exactly what it is about. Theres no point having the best news story or scoop in the world if you can't effectively preent the story in an imaginative, bold, and exciting new way. The newswall is that way, you said it yourself. As soon as you tune in, within a matter of seconds you can have a pretty good idea about what they're talking about.

The newswall is sky news, and reflects there audience on a daily basis. e.g. sky news attract a younger more liberal audience (apparently) to the BBc's older more conservative audience.

Whats happened to the active vote too, its not advertised anymore, or made a out to be a big thing of the day.

The active vote is a complete joke.

"Do you think war is a bad thing, YES/NO"

"Do you like cats? YES/NO"

"What is your favourite colour? YES/NO"

They only do it to generate revenue, and i'm guessing that has pretty much dried up now. Dread to think how many people vote, but i reckon probably a tiny, tiny sample.

They've be better of making a bigger thing of a vote on their website, and then publishing that. Imagine they will when the site gets overhauled.

Not quite lol.

I miss the whole 'lets have a walk to the pod to read the 2nd story'

and the ' Presenter B is in the shoe box, over to you Mrs B'

Its really bland broadcasting these days. Sky News is famous for its lets go walk abouts style, and thats what a majority of the viewers liked about SN.
