Yeah that was nice, the cube was mentioned in the pre-relaunch thread a while back.

I don't understand why they are only having one presenter on Live at 5 isn't it classed as prime-time telle?
They've just used a very swish pivoting/rotating box to describe whats coming up i.e next, then, later.
Slightly disappointed that its coming from the desk but I suppose they do have to justify having it. They're not scrimping on the 'BREAKING NEWS' either (three bombs in Baghdad) and they seem to be using the phrase;
'Breaking the news live' alot, perhaps a signal of things to come?
Its all good so far.

Again, don't want to sound like a stick in the mud, but I'm watching Sky News in order to get the latest news. Don't give me 'reasons' to watch. I'm perfectly happy with them being called headlines.

It all looks really good, very slick and polished, seemingly putting the viewer in the centre of the newsgathering operation.
For me, I'm not keen on the music, the old music seemed to have more pace and urgency, and built up to a satisfying climax, it just seems to fade away uninterestingly now. Probably because the sequence is so long. Have we established why in the top of the hour opening the newsroom is scarcely populated with a few people kneeling on the floor. Looks a bit odd.
Wasn't mad about Sunrise, I thought Eamon would change his approach a bit but didn't for me. They didn't make best use of the studio either, limiting themselves to the small balcony area around a circular table.
We do seem to be a bit too close to Jeremy for my liking, and the 5 cube thing is a bit unnecessarily gimmicky. Oh and I don't like this 'conversational' method of presenting sport, sure have a bit of opening and closing banter, but not throughout the whole bulletin.
Other than that, fabulous, for me setting a new standard in news presentation.

Not keen on Live@5 at the moment, I want to be told whats going to be covered rather than ;
'Lets go worldwide now'
Its almost as if they're saying 'lets go worldwide (but because we're so stuck on high ratings that we'll do what ever you want just so we can keep you)'.
Its like the '5 reasons to watch Live@5'
News is supposed to be authoritive, its supposed to take you on a ride, not you taking Sky News and xyz on a tour of whatever.
I can accept that they're experiemnting but it just doesn't feel right for the 'heavyweight' of the UK 24 news scene to be almost asking you what you want to do.
