yeah it looked nice and flashy - but ultimately it looked ridiculous and showed that the channel was losing its focus and becoming overly obsessed with presentation rather than actual news content (and ratings reflected that). I'm glad that they've gone back to what they used to do best.
Its a shame to see how good it was, but same goes for GMTV, ITV Central News. They should'nt keep messin!

Dont get me started, If you take a look at pictures from the relaunch day you will see how good it looked, Sky News Today branding, news from the newswall pod. Using the stairs for contact info. Fantastic shots, now its just utterly drab.

Martin's still in his usual slot but I presume that Allan's just going to be filling from now on...
Is he? I thought that Chris Roberts had replaced him on weekends, 5-12.
that's what he was doing last weekend. Looks like Popplewell is now just a fill in like Allan King.

I think Martin Stanford should be teamed up with Julie in the afternoons. They were great together in the mornings before the relaunch.

I think and hope that Lorna is still in her slot, she's just on holiday. I can't imagine Sunrise without her. Also the new schedule gives us more of Emma, so it's good for me. Only thing I think they should change is Colin doing both SNTs. They should put someone else in the afternoon.

BSkyB’s multi-platform content division Sky Networked media has recruited Andrew Hawken from MSN to take up the new position of editorial director, online.
Sky Networked media is preparing to expand its web presence across a number of genres including news, entertainment, travel and the arts.
Hawken is currently editor-in-chief of MSN.com and also general manager of MSN Portal Experience.
He will report to managing director of Sky Networked Media James Baker and be tasked with overseeing editorial strategy for the online assets. One of his top priorities will be to help redevelop Sky News’ web presence as a video-rich site for a launch next year.
Baker said: “Andrew is an outstanding addition to the Sky Networked Media team. His experience in leading MSN’s content strategy will be a huge asset as we develop an enhanced network of websites that deliver rewarding user experiences and increasingly valuable revenue opportunities.”
