Well, Readers' Editors at newspapers are primarily for comments on the newspaper itself, and that standard of reporting, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was some element of this. I think it would be logical to hear them make reference to their own coverage, as people no doubt email in all the time their opinions on what they are seeing produced by Sky.
On an unrelated subject, are they auditioning for Sunrise? Paula Middlehurst on Monday and Tuesday, and this pratt who's on today... they're trying a bit too hard to be ultra-cheery and pally.

i just assumed it was opinions on the news, but come to think of it views on the actual channel would be good. if they actually allowed it... lol

I love this shot of the presenters.wish they would use it more. The newswall has become boring.

She's not a prat! She's great once you get over the slightly grating voice.
Chris Roberts was never that good anyway.
But they do need to sort out the scheduling, with Colin and Mark on SNT AM and PM respectively.

Any reason why Colin Brazier is doing Sky News Today AM and Sky News Today PM?
These new schedules seem a bit baffling, to be honest. Previously 'top' presenters shunted to weekends.

Back to the issue of scheduling...so are they ditching Sat Live in favour of rolling news? I always thought that Sat Live, before it lost its direction, was actually a rather good show, and filled a gap left by the now departed Live with Angela Rippon.
As for presenter changes...if Chris is moving to the weekend...I won't be sad - never rated him that much. I also never rated Lorna Dunkley that much - was surprised that she was kept on Sunrise after the relaunch.
I know some don't like her - but I always rated Paula Middlehurst - always thought she was quite competant. She's in a similar mould to Anna Jones IMO.
Whatever is happening, it looks like Ryley is trying to put his stamp on the channel.

I agree. I think Paula Middlehurst, despite having been at Sky since the late 90s has been overlooked for quite some time now... she's a hell of a lot better than Gillian Joseph.
Re; Chris Roberts. I think he is very capable, but apparently difficult to work with. That does rather come across on screen too... doesn't seem like the sort of person that takes well to sharing the spotlight. Send him back to international reporting and on-the-scene events, he's good at that.
And yes, the newswall is boring. There is an irony that they have spent millions and millions on this new news centre and their flagship show, Live at Five, uses a backdrop almost identical to the studio design they had from 1995-2001 - just blue tv monitors. They really aren't making the most of the place from a viewer's perspective.
Also, noticed the breaking news sting used earlier. Pretty neat really. Just a red square with breaking news in white text zooming into the centre of the screen, pausing for a moment, then zooming to fill the screen whilst fading out and into the story. Quite effective... if a bit pointless.
