It's less congruous than the 'More at sky.com/news' graphic - that's a another huge reason not to watch the awful channel! What ARE they thinking of?

From Media Monkey:
Quote:
· It's a family affair at Sky News as new boss John Ryley seeks to place his imprimatur on the channel with some new appointments. Newsnight deputy editor Kate McAndrew has been poached to edit the mid-morning strand on Sky, joining brother John, who moves up to edit Jeremy Thompson's Live at Five show. Will there be room at Sky News for Mrs McAndrew, ITV News political correspondent Daisy?

I agree; it's so unnecessary... although on the positive side, since it's appeared, the huge 'Press Red' strap seems to have gone from weekends.

Nice mistake on Sky news just now. Wrong mic was up and all you could hear was a loud burp (actually beltch) and then someone talking about something random. Lovely and cultured Sky News.

No one available to join Colin last night, Anna returned at 10 despite doing 5-7 with JT?
And just in case there was anyone left who thought the overnight sport was not pre-recorded, good view of Colin and Anna at the desk during Jon's bulletin at 12.20.

Also Emma Crosby has been doing both Sky News Todays for the last two days.

It was there last night too.

I guess the 'screen' that needs to be replaced is something that needs to be specially made to the desk's specifications, judging by the time it's taking to fix it?

Perhaps, stupid though it may sound, they haven't had a chance yet due to the desk being in constant use?

Article about Martin Popplewell in today's Daily Mail. The comments at the bottom are full of classic Daily Mail readers' prejudices!

The same story was in yesterday's Evening Standard but it just say that the father was a Sky News presenter who couldn't be named for legal reasons.

Maybe, but you would have thought it would have been one of those over-night jobs where the news is pre-recorded for a couple of hours.
