Well, that's what the desk is there for.
Personally I find it very sad that with a nice big flashy desk, they feel the need to perch at nonky-looking perspex lecterns.
But its not like they use the desk to its full advantage really? They have this screen infront of it, that is hardly ever used.They can spin the desk around the whole way, yet they hardly ever do. And with that horrid blue background they use on the newswall, its not like the surroundings are nice!
Perhaps they could spin the desk round really fast whilst they're sat there presenting. Eventually centrifugal force would propel the presenters across the studio to land spread-eagled on the Newswall, thus removing the need for those awkward 'walking' sequences. I feel this would make the news more 'engaging', and would give Sky News the edge over News 24.
