Am I the only one to really like James Rubin? Yeah he ain't good at reading from an autocue, but his new role seems to really suit him and he does come across really well. I reckon he'll be at Sky for a long time to come.
Why, oh why, oh why?! James Rubin?! I thought they'd learnt!!!
There was a classic at the TOTH. After Rubin stumbled through the opening headlines, he starts by looking at the wrong camera! doh!
James hasn't really lost his slot at all - he's on Martin Stamford's show more often than not analysing various global issues, and now he's effectively got WNT back for the time being.
Presumably he signed at least a one year contract with Sky from the relaunch and so they really might as well use him.
Don't see them seeking any form of contract extension given his dismal performance in all thing presentational. This doesn't of course prevent him being a regular guest analyser.
I really can't get Tim Marshall. It's him an the defence guy Tuser that really do my head in. So, so smug in their whole attitude, I just find them very hard to watch without get angry inside.
Not a bad performance from Sky news on the middle east crisis- still lacking the energy of the pre-relaunch channel at covering such major events. I can't quite place my finger on what's been lost, but I get no sense that they're ever going to get it back.
Dunedin. I think the added extra they may have lost, was a line up of venerable and quality presenter, i.e. Vivien Creeger and Lisa Aziz to name two. In my opinion. But I do think this Middle East coverage has given the channel much needed momentum.
P.S. Does anyone else find Joey Jones' voice unbearble, or is it just me.
Well I doubt Adam Boulton will be on Sunday Live tomorrow, as today he is tying the knot, although according to the Times, won't go on honeymoon for another couple of weeks.
During the midday TOTH sequence there was a zoom in on a middle east map during the 'This is Sky News Today with Martin Stanford in Haifa'. Looked very effective!
I'm glad one of our 24 hour news broadcasters is making an effort!
All this 'well it's only if you like style over substance' is absolute cr**. This is TELEVISION after all. Sky's coverage has been exemplary.

Do you mean a different ident or was it just a map up on the newswall?

The ident was as normal and Martin did the headlines live from Haifa and then during the VO, 'This is Sky News...' they had a map zooming from a high aerial shot down towards Haifa.
