Was this something he did for five, and sky nicked it?

That's a point could well be, and probably more likely.

Shame about the Sky report and WNT - Sky report especially cause there wasn't a lot wrong with it, it just didn't pull in loads of viewers. sometimes you cant do anything about that.

And WNT - yes sometimes it has hard to watch perhaps, but it did have a hell of a lot of in depth content, and rubin was always good i felt once the presenting was out of the way and he could get his teeth stuck into a meaty debate/conversation with a guest.

Anyway here's to hoping Sky have taken on board the criticisms and problems and come Monday it might start to look a lot better. And also that martin stanford's show is good as well! Very Happy

I like his random squiggle that he does when talking to camera on that last bit. Bless. Laughing

The thinking seems to be, given Burley's show is the only one that hasn't been a spectacular failure - in part because it's her presenting it - that a regular Sky News bulletin but with a slightly different angle to it and a prominant presenter is the way to go. So, rather than have something so drastically alternative as Sky Report or WNT, which were totally at odds with the rest of the Sky output, they have a bulletin that is identifiably different but retains the things that highlights the channel's key strength: rolling, lively news.

As such, If the Stanford show is a success, what's the betting on Julie Etchingham bagging the 10-12 slot with her own ''...with Julie Etchingham'' show? Pretty high, I'd have thought.

Sounds all rather similar to what CNN did with Paula Zahn.

Technofile ended today for a summer break - apparently it'll return in September in Martin's new evening show...

So 6am comes, and it looks as though they haven't taken this oportunity to update the top of the hour. Shame.

They used some interesting new camera shots of the studio during Lunchtime Live. Here they are.
