Changing the subject, I really hope a new TOTH is being made with the presenter changes, Im sure the people at SKY know its a bit boring seeing the same people every hour every day.
Theres been no indication of a new one, but lets just hope ... If they've seen sence about the presenters they may so about the TOTH

As I said, there will be no change to the TOTH as I know of.

So its the subtle return of the active behind the camera type shot. Sounds interesting.

From next Monday, 10th July, I will be anchoring a new look to evenings here at Sky and I welcome your contributions to the programme.
From 8pm each weeknight I'll be here with two hours of news and conversation. There will be all the elements you expect from Sky News: live reports on the people and places making the news each day and interviews with the key newsmakers and experts.
But this show will be going further to include your experiences and your reaction to the stories we cover. For several years our daytime shows have encouraged you to send us comments by email or text message. For my new show we are going to take that a bit further. We will be inviting some of our viewers to join us by their 3G video mobile or webcam to add their thoughts to the topic under discussion and to put their questions to the key decision makers.
To take part, you can stick to the usual email address (news@sky.com) or text number (84501) but let us have your videomobile number or your user name for your webcam service and we will contact you.
We want you to take an active part in breaking news, by breaking the news that you see and telling us all about it.
I’ll also be keeping in touch with you during the programme. I’ll be updating our programme’s page on the Sky News web site and you’ll be able to contribute there too.
Plus, on Sky News active, you’ll be able to see exactly what is going on in the studio via camera 11, which will be live throughout the programme - even during commercial breaks.
I hope you can join me on Monday at 8pm!

They're apparently all actors. I'm not sure if this is to save the embarrassment of having former staff members in it, or because the behind the scenes people are all too, er, beautiful for telly.

Sounds absolutely god awful. The only redeeming feature I can see is that Stanford is presenting it, and he is by far Sky's best asset.
I really am sick and tired of hearing contributions from 'Joe from Woking' or 'Sheila from Barrow-in-Furness'. Put bluntly, who gives a f-ck what they think?
I'm happy to be proven wrong (that's a lie, I'm not) but I can see the webcam idea going entirely tits up. How many months now have Sky News been asking for ''your contributions in video from your 3G phones''? About 7 or 8 months? Maybe longer. I've seen two people in that entire time actually appear on air as a result of this. Webcam is a little different, as more people have them, but it really sounds like an ill-fated attempt to integrate the internet and a TV news show.
Where have we heard such a concept before? See: MSNBC's The Site and CNN NewsSite for prime examples of why this does not work, even in the US, where TV call in shows are the norm. Granted, this was a few years ago when broadband was not as widely available, but I maintain that news programming should be constructed by journalists, not members of the public. You're only going to get as good a show as the people who contribute to it with this kind of thing, and as Mr Churchill once remarked, "the best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter". Sky seem determined to reinforce that in every aspect of their programming.
All that said, I'm prepared to be entirely wrong. Stanford could be the programme's saving grace.

I personally can see it all going wrong and then about 6 months down the line someone will take a hammer to it and it will become as it always was sky news again. I think they will get viewers, and they do have to make it intersting because of the time-slot with dramas, soaps etc - but I agree, I want news not opinions from some drugged up loon from Fife whose been sectioned and locked away for 30 years.
