I have to agree about the way they go into breaks. At the end of the hour the presenters just tell you what is coming up, don't even say Bye.. and just look into the camera until it goes onto the weather sponser. I dont think the whoosh is enough to go into a break, I'm sure when they created the music they would have made a stin, well why don't they use it ?
Also, I think they should use the world with the Sky News logo on the newswall insted of the blue stripes thing.

The blue stripes look cheep and crap.

Sky News is totally unwatchable at the weekends because of this permanent strap. The beuty of 24 hour news is the information strap will tells you what is being discussed in the interview/report that you've just tuned into the middle of.

I don't care that I can press red for the latest showbiz gossip.

I'm amazed at anyone who actively chooses to watch this pap over News 24.

I watch it over the weekend, and it is largely OK, but that may be bacuse I have it on in the background, while I'm doing homework, so I'm not looking at the tv all of the time. I've tried watching News24 over the weekend before, but once you get into the 2-5 and 8-12 bracket then everything is just repeats, at least sky news attempt a fair amount of live's, not just from reporters but from guests throughout the day.

By the way, looking at the sky press office today, the schedule that they have on there says that there is now NO set presenters AT ALL for SNTam AND pm. There are 'Various presenters', does this mean that they are trialling presenters out, as I could unerstand this for pm with Ginny gone but for am?

Thats still on the current timetable though. The new one still has the presenters names on. I would think this is only the case until July 10th

Just wondering, that when Martin Stanford gets his new show at 8pm, will he still have Saturday Live or will someone else get the post?

Might seem unpleasant, but it's pretty much normal procedure when people are being let go.

Really? Shocked

I'd guess she was called in to cover, wasn't she on this afternoon as well? Oh the politics of it all. I'd like to know WHO was supposed to be on and WHY they aren't. RIGHT NOW.

Its common practice to lock out computer access from members of staff being dismissed. It usually happens when they are called to a room to be told.

Its not just to stop malicious activity from those being sacked, but also to prevent valuable information (including address books and databases) being copied.

But there's a big difference between being dismissed (sacked), say in a disciplinary procedure, and being made redundant. Although I have to admit that Sky probably did the wise thing in locking out staff from their computers, given that a lot of people take the view they brought this disaster upon themselves with such a botched relaunch.

But if you're being made redundant from a media organisation chances are you might freelance/work for another fairly soon, as such you wouldn't want your vast database of private names/numbers/contacts to be taken with said person would you.
