Thank God.

Sky are starting to realise the ATV Bolocks was a waste of time.

The move back to a rolling news schedule, which is pretty much where they are going to go, means that Sky are overloaded with presenters, so some were going to go.

Buckley was a no-brainer in my opinion. Foster was a bit of a surprise but if her going meant that people like Anna Jones stayed then it's fine.

Sky always worked better as a lean machine.

Parts of the revamp were very necessary, i.e. a new studio, the move to server based playout, but while some of the ATV programmes work (Lunchtime Live, Saturday Live), others feel disjointed (WNT)

One would have thought a better strategy would to invest some presenters into their weekend coverage - which only has 3 presenters on during the day doing awfully long shifts. Usually Allan King or Martin Poppadom.

Not surprised Buckley went - what'll happen to Juliette Foster though? Will she remain in TV, perhaps popping over to BBC Biz?

Well Foster was a bit of a surprise, I would ahve thought they would have let go of all of the ITV News Channel staff and Martin Popplewell, before touching old Fozzy.

Whilst I iked the sky report, it was clear to see that it wasn't going to last, wrong time slot, and, on a news-channel, not that I would have a problem with them putting together a 1/2 hour program. i hpe Kay and Mark stay togather as a permanent feature, although it looks as if Anna Jones is heading to SNTpm.

EDIT: Don't forget that pre-October they only had one person doing the weekend coverage, often Allan king and Paula Middlehurst, with an overlap covering Live at Five

You'll get over it, Ginnyfan.
Just treasure your archive of recordings and screenshots. Better laminate those PR shots too to keep them easy wipe.

Whilst Foster (too fierce), Buckley (two brain cells), and Chater (sidelined for ages now) are no brainers, I am very shocked that Richard Bestic has been axed.

He's been around at Sky for a very long time... and perhaps is one of the few who was there at the launch. It's very surprising to see him go, and people like Holmes stay on for doing a far less worthy job.

Eve Richings is an interesting one. She pops up every six months with some utterly bizarre report about something in Afghanistan, and is never seen in between. I can't recall the last time I saw her on screen. Likewise for Nicola Hill, health person. Sky already have one health correspondent, who seems to be their first choice for all health stories.

Another wholly unsurprising move. It's interesting that Pollard's been allowed to undo the relaunch before leaving. You've got to think that surely the new head of sky news would want to be involved in these decisions since he's taking over in a matter of months.

But then, as with the relaunch, it may be that the orders originated higher up the food chain.

Well I don't like that...No Martin and Julie, and Chris Roberts and Anna Jones? What will happen to Martin on Friday, preseumably he won't be presenting Saturday Live now, unless he doesn't do Friday's...perhaps Steve Dixon will get it. Atleast it doesn now make the evenings stronger...

And what do they mean for an interactive program at 20:00 - a review of the day with your views and interivews, or something more rolling news style than that - any ideas

So does this mean James is scrapped, or will he present some new programme...?

Broadcast says Rubin is staying as an analyst/commentator and presenter of special programmes on international affairs. (Just as many people have been suggesting here for ages)
