The top-most DOG is from Sky TX and is usually visible during pre-recorded programming (Queen at 80 etc.) & CBS News, it runs on a 24 hour clock, i.e. 05:30, 17:30.
EDIT: Actually my mistake. Looking at tonights showing of the Queen at 80 it's running on a 12-hour clock, with 0 for midnight and 12 for midday.
Mr. Popplewell was flying solo on Live at Five yesterday, and there was no sign of ashtrays on th newsdesk, so I wonder how he managed to grab his customary puff given that there was no co-anchor to cover for his trip behind the bike-sheds??
Joking aside, I find him to be quite a good presenter in all honesty. However, he sometimes borders on cockney accent, which I find hard to swallow.

you've never seen Amrolypoly then?
Avoid him at all costs. Martine Croxall is another one who has an Albert Square-esque sound sometimes.
Boulton seemed a bit heated during his Cameron interview today, in the "I just don't want to be here" mode.

What an interesting TOTH few minutes ago.Their cameras didn't work very well and they showed Tom Cruise speaking for a long time and then they showed the studio shot where Mark was at the Newswall and Ginny at the ''Lunchtime Live'' desk looking around the studion for the camera. Then it showed Mark who started speaking and in a few seconds returned to the studio shot showing us Ginny smiling at the camera. I love it when things like this happen.
The bit I saw of Jamie Ruben's hour last night was actually very good. The Egypt bombings story was breaking and they had an expert and the Foreign Editor (is it Tim Marshall?) in the studio around the desk.
