There is no SNT type presentation, just the presenters sat behind the desk.

ok; you mean no poncing about at the newswall and podiums / balcony?
If so, I see what you mean.

The presentation during weekends is pretty dull when you compare it to the likes of the weekday or even the weekend mornings.

But surely it's about the content, yes ? Why should rolling news be eyecatching ?

What if they possibly put small metal tools (of course they would match in with the design of the studio) and place them at the pod by the newswall.

Is that a joke of some kind ? Tools ? Confused
For a gardening section, or something ?

Well would you like seeing a man infront of a cardboard box wearing his PJ's and with a paper sign saying "SKY NEWS" beside him and reading the news...or would you rather see the news but have it loking well?
If you get as acoustomed to watching SkyNews during the weekdays with the walking around and all...it makes it more pleasing on the eyes rather than just sitting down the whole time with such a magnificent state-of-the-art newsroom there going to waste during the weekends

I agree to an extent, but then there's too much farting about, something that Sky News Today is all too acquainted with.

I think Sunrise has about the right mix, Sky News Today really need t orevert to two presenters max, build it a little bit like Sunrise, obviously with the appropriate content, they might as well make maximum use of their grand studio, otherwise the studio is a waste of money.

I think the roles of the 3 presenters needs to be defined a bit more
Such as in the afternoon:
Mark & Steve do the presenting of the whole programme with Ginny dropping in each 15 mins for the headlines. A bit like Moira on Breakfast.
There is a similar system in place but I think they should fix them to a role and thats it.

I would positively love that Very Happy

I know what you mean, but year on year TV becomes more and more 'style over content' which to me, is a very obvious ploy to distract the viewer from the tedium of what is actually happening.

I personally am not impressed by podiums, large video walls or relaunches.
In fact, I believe they detract from the output when there is actually something genuinely interesting going on. ie the normal 'clutter and furniture' gets in the way of actual content.
TV news simply needs clean full frame pictures to speak for themselves. Pictures not very interesting or a bit vague? Well, how about not playing them, then.

I don't know guys - I think the three presenter thing is quite refreshing and innovative, and it sets Sky apart from the other (standard) formats adopted by others everywhere.

The only thing that gets me is the inconsistency of it - sometimes three presenters, sometimes two.........

And, yes, a lot depends on who the presenters actually are! Some of the trios are mismatches - others are great. I think King / Crosby / Jones works well.

As a new member, I have a question. I do not tend to watch Sky News that often but why is it that they seem to need 3 anchors when the Sky report and even Rubins little show manages with just the one? (Well James doesn't manage but Sky News obviously think he does for some strange reason).

Dunno really N24, but my own assumptions are:

1) It's innovative, as per my post above, because no-one else does it;
2) Breaks up the monotony of a single face seen continuously for 3 hours on end (as would be the case with the SNT segments);
3) Allows Popplewell out for a fag whilst Emma Crosby and Anna Jones continue with the Breaking News.

(......3) was an attempt at humour.........)
