I watched SNT Afternoon today with Ginny And Charlie, at the 2pm TOTH I felt very dissapointed. Ginny And Charlie both paused before moving onto the next headline because the topic image hadn't come on the newswall! I also noticed the voiceover was diffrent with no "Live from the sky news centre" Ginny wasn't that bad,I do think though that she is quite nervous. When the breaking news came in of a fire in India charlie said they would bring more news soon. Ginny then said "Well it does seem.." paused, went red, then said "Yes we will give you more later" After saying that she mumbled up the rest of her line. Before the break came on!
It really does seem that sky news have got some serious presenter problems today, and no doubt for the rest of the week.
Emma and Allan doing SNT
Steve Dixon on Lunchtime Live
Charlie Stayt on SNTpm
Anna Botting doing Live at 5
Chris Roberts to do TSR
Emma and Allan are obviously not the usual team, although the two do seem to be frequent stand-ins. Steve Dixon I assume is a stand-in for the stand-in for the stand-in. I've seen Mark Longhurst and Anna Jones present before. Charlie Stayt fills in for Mark and Steve, Anna Botting, a stand-in for the stand-in (Martin Stanford), and now Chris Roberts, his own Sky Report debut I believe. After we've seen the likes of JT, Martin Stanford and Colin Brazier all fill in.
Does anybody think Roberts will do World News Tonight, and then go home or will he stay on till midnight.
They really seem to be getting desperate, and whilst i can see its difficult I think that if they want to have triple-headed programs they really should try and get people to cover them. Juliette Foster/Helen Fospero could have done SNTam, with Martin Popplewell or faye Barker doing SNTpm. Or they could get a first class presenter to fill in, goes by the name of Paula Middlehurst.
Oh by the way as anybody watching SN yesterday, about 3:20pm. Allan and Juliette having a good old banter/laugh about dating and chat-up lines, first class example of why I watch Sky News. Great laugh!
Bizarre really that Anna's down for Live at 5, where Chris should be doing that, and Anna should be on Sky Report. I'm guessing this is for continuity reasons; Chris can just go on till midnight whereas it would have been Chris, Anna, Chris and Juliette otherwise.

I was about to say exactly the same thing. Would Chris do Tonight, or would someone else be brought in, as Anna usually deals with The Sky Report only?
I doubt you guys ever will, but why don't you move away from the interest of who's appearing on which block of airtime, who's standing in for who, etc ..
One or two presenters may have negotiated consistency / make themselves unavailable but it is a rolling operation where people are obviously shuffled and slotted into a rota.
I wouldn't imagine Sky have much if any editorial interest in why and when person A appears with person B, so why do you ??
I can understand why this forum gives a platform for discussing television presentation, but surely speculating and commenting on rota patterns is just banale and pointless ?

Well if you think that you are probably on the wrong forum. Anyway the presenters are one of the most important elements of a news channel so where they go is crucial. Certainly not banal and pointless.
