Aside from that, it's somewhat misleading to those watching Sky News via DTT and cable. Not everyone watching Sky News
on the other two digital platforms will realise that Sky News Active is only available on Sky Digital. Although, I'm sure most
of us here on TVF know the difference, I really don't think that a small animated pic of a Sky+ remote control handset
on the right hand side of the screen, is a good enough indication of the limited availability of the service.

It especially doesn't help when Sky News presenters say "Press red on your digital remote control for Sky News Active",
as though it's available on all digital platforms. My dad, and a few of my neighbours with DTT, have asked me why "the
press red thing" doesn't work on Sky News. Why can't Sky at least put "Available on Sky Digital Only" on screen?

Or try a cut down version of it for Freeview.... like N24.

At least on N24 they say Here's what you get on Freeview, Here's what you get on Satellite etc, where as Sky just say Press Red regardless, though the majority of their viewers watch via Sky, they still have a potential 8 Million audience via Freeview and Cable.

What makes that worse is that it isn't even positioned in the 4:3 safe area!

Sky can not put any multiscreen services on freeview, due to no video streams being available, the only way that SKY can do this is to close one of there exisiting channels. BBC multiscreens, broadcast on the same stream as BBC Parliament.

Where did Ginny dissapear? She did the headlines in the begining of the first hour of SNT and after that Mark and Steve took over.

Thank God! Another of Sky's wonderful charasmatic presenters, speaking of which - James 'Jamie' Rubin on full form last night. Plenty of the usual 'umms' and 'ahhs' and oh so occasionally silence... Man is terrible, truly a sinking boat and I'll be surprised if he lasts til the autumn. Absoletly foul performance on World News Tonight, it just seems completely the wrong show, wrong presenter and wrong time. Think it would much better suited to say 6-ish without 'Jamie', as he's constantly refered to, screwing every possible link and cue up. He just about managed a sentence last night and for that I think we should give him a round of appaulse, but really? On one Britains top news channels is it really acceptable to have a presenter, on a consistent basis, say phrase such as "Well, Ummm, thanks for joining us, now, umm, do you, umm, really, see this been a way, for umm, way for bringing, umm, things umm, forward, umm, in umm this, umm, this country, umm like..." Urghh! It's annoying as a viewer and personally for Sky i'd feel embarrased.

Right, winge over.

Just a small note, when the breaking news strap changes its message (in black) there appears to be a flash, with red lines pulsating out to the left of the screen ( where the globe would normally be).

Who's presenting on Sky News overnight? They used a generic announcement at the TOTH.
