There was some bingo game being played at the top of SNT too this morning. Steve Dixon and Emma Crosby at the Newsdesk, whilst Martin S was at the newswall with graphics jumping all over the fllor. Bizarre.

I watched James Rubin's programme again last night - is it only me who finds it quite watchable? The actual journalistic content is excellent and the man does know what he's talking about.

News at Ten is slowly growing on me too.

If only he could present...

The only editorial output from Sky News that I have an interest in is indeed the world news coverage, which I think really has come on some way. Including the overnight world news output.

As for the rest of it, I couldn't give two hoots about it. Triple presenters, endless UK political speculation and the like leaves me cold.

Watch a bit of real human suffering in world news and it'll put trivialities like flashy graphics into perspective.

Strong team for the Budget today; Michael Wilson, Martin Stanford, Anna Jones, Kay Burley, Mark Longhurst and Adam Boulton are all there to see over precedings.

Also a strong guest list, Iain Duncan-Smith, the Nationwide boss and 'easy' creator Stellios to name but a few are all providing analysis.

What a great studio shot at the beginning of Sky News At 10,much better that the usual one they use, which became a bit boring.
And by the way Juliette Foster is great and much better than Gillian Joseph.I don't understand how can they put Gillien into this slot instead of Juliette.

Anyone recognise who the overnight presenter is on skynews for the last few days. She looks very much like the girl who did the weather on East Midlands Today.

Yeah - the overnight presenter was the former East Midlands Today regional weather (and news) presenter Lukwesa Burak - she left the Beeb a couple of weeks ago.

Oh right thanks for that, i thought i'd seen her before. I didnt get her name as the sky mc didnt give her name at the TOTH when i watched it.

Shows how spaced out I have been whilst being ill ... I hadn't noticed that Kevin Owen was taking days off the overnights the last couple of days.

Firstly.....

Fernando - I hope you're feeling much better!! Get Well Soon.

Sky News......

The Budget coverage was excellent, IMO. I loved Kay Burley's cup of tea in the Tesco's cafe with the 4 male pensioners, and the one who didn't realise they were still on air when he quipped "Jeez, I am glad that's over. I was sweating......"or words to that effect, when KB had to interrupt him and in her best Yorkshire/Emmerdale accent said "Ay oop......am still on the telly, you know.....!"

Agree with the comments made above about Juliette Foster - was excellent on News at Ten.

I was channel hopping yesterday during breaking news of Norman Kember's release, and of all the four channels I was tuned to, Sky (mainly Anna Jones) were miles ahead of any of the others in terms of facts and insight, and conveyed the latest from the wires miles ahead of the others (BBC World (Martine Dennis), CNNI (Ralitsa Vassileva) and Al Jazeera Arabic (don't know the anchor's name). )

Well done Sky. I am impressed these days.

Im starting to think Sky are gaining from their new studio/presenters, rather than it being a joke, or just cringeworthy.

Yes, and the Budget Coverage was excellent! Surprised

Yes, I agree, something seems to have 'clicked' these last couple of weeks. Everything seems to flow very smoothly, the presenters seem very at ease, the graphics are looking great, and Sky are breaking news first again in most situations.

The use of the studio seems to be better, and there's some great sweeping shots on most TOTHs.

Even James Rubin's show, to me, seems watchable. If you accept the fact that he's not a presenter into account, he asks some good questions, and generally knows what he's talking about.

Not quite there yet, but the 'new' Sky News, is starting to get a comfortable 'old' Sky News feel to it, which is great.
