Just worth pointing out, if someone hasn't already, that the new website doesn't work at all with Safari on Mac. Ironic, considering a screenshot of it was posted here the other day in Safari!

Bloody irritating.

Ah! So that's why it's all screwed up! I checked this AM on my Mac and just thought it was broke and when I got to work it was fine on Windoze (though I can't install Flash on my work machine so the clock and other stuff don't show).

Poor!

OK on the whole its an excellent start to a new look, Im one who LOVES the new titles, it's something very different from the norm.

[B] Good Points

Arrow Eammon and Lorna, very good chemistry
Arrow the whole new studio, v.v good and more to explore during the day
Arrow Three presenters works very well

[B] Need Work

Arrow Eammon's involvement with the sports bulletins, just let Jackie present man
Arrow Can we have proper newspaper reviewers, NOT Big Brother contestants
Arrow TOTH goes on a little too long
Arrow Too much done on the balcony have at least one hour at the desk or newswall

I will reserve judgement on a few bad things until the end of the week. By the way has anyone spotted on Stevedixon.biz one photograph of what is called a shoebox?

Its a small presenting area with a number of chairs, any ideas?[B]

Overall, very impressed. On screen furniture is very clear, clean and crisp; slightly less brash than it was, but retaining lots of energy. Seems to make full use of the technology.

like (but don't love) the studio, great space and used well, but to be honest, looks a lot cheeper in the detail than I thought it would.

My only problem is the titlles. Very glossy and crisp, but very, very American.
And how quickly will they date? Same ten people over and over again, god knows how many times a day. If you're going to do a studio based top shot, why not just do it live? They do with the post heads move anyway!

I'm just hoping there will be some more globe animations/stings, to break the monotony. I've seen it twice now and I'm already bored of it. Disappointing 4/10...see me! Razz

does anyone know how much each panel of the newswall costs. i would imagine £1000 or 2 per square. there must be about 200 or more

im supprised itv news could not produce a real newswall. it also says sky have the biggest news wall in europe but it looks smaller than the itv news one, however do they mean a real newswall with tv's or led's

Look closely at that screenshot - the form controls are clearly from a Windows browser. The screengrab has just been placed in a Safari window to look nicer in the brochure.

The desk shot thats been shown on sky news is really showing what ITVNC Could Do.
They could take away the walkway down to the desk ,move the desk part away from the newswall then have 5/6 desks where the walkway used to be ? then split the newswall in half one half Live look in on the newsroom the other the visual wall with GFX on.

Anyway back to SKY News ...I really like the Sky News Today style 3 presenters IS very useful

I think it's noticeable that Sky News Today seems to be aiming more at viewers at home, as opposed to people watching in offices, newsrooms etc.

It just seems more 'consumer' than before. Not sure I like it.

Just wondering, does anyone know that the new graphics use font wise? "Coming up, the ticker and the "bands" (sunrise, today) etc"?
