Yes and now this Active aston is on permanently, for fook sake who has taken this decision to do this, this channel goes out overseas, putting an Active aston like this makes no sense, it's totally not necessary since the Active service is not available to international viewers, all I can hope is that someone sees sense and gets rid of this unnecessary graphic!

"Press red for weather"
Constantly
Bizarre
You would have thought they would advertise something useful if they wanted to plug it, or at least rotate through options. But no:
"Press red for weather"

It has the feel of a BSkyB level decision to alienate freeview viewers into switching to Sky digital- because such viewers really care enough about what the UK's 2nd best 24 hour news channel does with its active service to spend considerable time and money switching.
Doomed plan that will see its audience decline yet further.

This is what's really annoying me about watching Sky News now, I don't mind every now and again when the Presenter will say "Hit the Red Button for......", but the constant "Hit Red" graphic with a great big Sky+ remote on the screen is getting on my nerves.
I appreciate Sky only tend to care more for their Satellite viewers and more of Sky News' viewers probably watch on Satellite, but it annoys me as I can only watch the channel via NTL and Freeview, which don't carry Sky News Active. Now you see I know this, but what about your average Joe Schmoe who's gone out and bought a Freeview box and is consisently told to Pres s Red and thus nothing comes up, I'm surprised Sky haven't had complaints about this ages ago.
One other thing; I thought Sky had a seperate Cable feed for their main channels such as Sky One, Sky News, Sky Sports 1-3 and Sky Movies 1-2 so appropriate Cable adverts could be shown (same goes for the Ireland versions of these channels AIUI), at least you'd think they'd get the 'Active O' bug off the screen.

I thought this graphic was a one off yesterday for the Glitter verdict (which I didn't mind as people may be interested in seeing that) but when I turned Sky News today to see that annoying graphic still on that annoyed me. Not only will that confuse Freeview/Cable viewers, but it may turn them to other news channels (ie. BBC News 24).
I don't mind them having the active ad in the bottom left constantly but the strapline is completely pointless and certainly won't make me press red. Hopefully it's just for the weekend. Even if it has been decided to show it constantly, I suspect they'll be a few complaints and it won't be there longer than a week.
Another thing, http://sky.com/news doesn't work. Don't they normally style the website as sky.com/news?
