no, I stopped working there quite some time ago.
I had a broken leg and after recovering I just didn't want to work there anymore.
I was a freelance vision-mixer (real name Lee, in case anyone reading this remembers me).
I never liked working there as I found the working environment and job far too stressful and tedious.

That's a shame as all insiders are always welcome!

Can somebody please tell Sky that, seeing as Sky News is available to more viewers on Freeview and Cable rather than Digital Satellite, that 'Pressing Red for Glitter verdict in full' as the caption has said on-screen for most of the day, will have absolutely no effect. it wouldn't be hard to have an additional line saying 'Digital Satellite viewers only' would it?
TW
Why have they been plugging that all day so much? I saw it both at just after 6.30am and then again at something like 11am and I thought that was a tad OTT. But the whole day? Ridiculous.

A good point made on the matter on MediaGuardian's Diary...
Monkey can't help but feel that the poignancy of Sky's coverage today of Ronnie Barker's memorial service from Westminster Abbey might be enhanced a little if there wasn't an enormous headline underneath telling viewers: "Press Red for Glitter verdict in full." Just for once, can't we think about one story at a time, please?

Totally pointless screen junk, and totally irrelevant to non satellite viewers. The constant plugging of the service and the red dot icon should be more than enough to promote the service. It's ridiculously intrusive.

This is just pathetic. Expanding on yesterday's idea, Sky now keep a constant strap on screen saying 'Press Red for [Top Stories, Weather, Showbiz etc].

It was also incredibly insensitive, whilst having a live interview from near the scene of where the body of the murdered schoolboy was recovered, to have a "Press Red for Showbiz" strap on screen throughout. I can understand they want to keep viewers tuned into the channel, be it via watching the main channel or by using the Active service, but this is rediculous.
And now we're having to put up with both the Active strap AND the strange way they squash the screen for signing.

Yes I noticed this yesterday, but I thought it may be a one off, but I saw it this afternoon as well!

I thought I'd see this sort of message when I logged on, and I'm not surprised.
What the hell are they doing plugging Active with a constant strap all day?
Maybe this time we actually should e-mail news@sky.com and tell them what we think!
