I agree with you. That's the main problem with the new set. It's so big that sometimes it looks like the presenters are alone there.Especially the area behind the desk. They have a few computers there but nobody is sitting there except the sport presenters sometimes. There is no action as it used to be behind the presenters, and I miss that.
Kay is doing pretty good since this is her first time on the red carpet, and she talked to George Clooney and she was so excited and happy.
I have never seen her like that.

I can't say I've ever watched and thought, "Wow, the presenters look alone there in that studio. I think I'll watch News 24 instead".
The lack of promotion doesnt help and i think thats the main thing. Look at mainstream programmes that get OTT promos they do prep up ratings. Sunrise should be put on FIVE, that would increase ratings
And I'm sure if five
wanted
to show Sunrise, then they would. As it stands, they already get pretty decent ratings for their children's shows in the morning - why would they sacrifice this for a 3 hour advert for Sky News?
And you say more advertising would help? Well surely pretty much everyone who has access to Sky News knows it exists and how to access it. Isn't the main problem more to do with wooden presenters (Rubin), underuse of talented presenters (Etchingham) and presenters who treat most stories as a joke (Longhurst, Dixon and Buckley)?
But it really annoys me when a big story has broken..
example : 3pm - Big Story being covered
3.15pm Recap of what weve just been babblin on about
3.16pm - Now lets get some sports news! SPORTS NEWS, i would like the rest of the news if possible.

Sorry - but Kay gets excited at the opening of a door, and she is never false!
The problem with Surise, is that, as has been pointed out elsewhere - advertising. There were no billboards advertising him on Sky News - they just relied on the free press - there was, afterall an article in most newspapers, some having interviews with the man himself - but IMO that isn't enough.
They do have 'Jabba' voicing ads for Sky News Sunrise on most commercial radio stations.

I didn't mean that the way the new set looks like is the reason for low ratings.I was just comparing the old one and the new one.
