06:00 – Sunrise with Steve Dixon and Lorna Dunkley
09:00 – Sky News Today with Martin Stanford and Julie Etchingham
12:00 – Sky News at Noon with Kay Burley
13:00 – Sky News Today with Mark Longhurst and Anna Jones
17:00 – Live At Five with Jeremy Thompson and Anna Botting
18:30 – Sportsline
19:00 – Sky News Tonight with Chris Roberts and Paula Middlehurst
19:30 – The Sky Report (recorded report with live studio debate following)
20:30 – World News ( recorded packages with analysis from Tim Marshall, James Rubin and guests)
22:00 – Sky News At Ten with John Suchet and Graìnne Seioige
23:00 – Sky News with John Suchet and Graìnne Seioige
As you can see the evening atv programmes are now 1/2 hour segments within the hour. I have put Paula in with Chris, in the light of her great efforts this week.
I don't think that John Suchet suits five news, so I've moved him to sky news at ten, which think will add a bit of prestige and identity to the evening programming; which others have said is needed. I think Kay Burley is better on her own show and by just having on for one hour a day, she shouldn't bring to much same to the channel.
I knew somebody would say that (see below) but I thought it would be better here since it is the forum about sky news, where most people come to discuss sky news and have made comments about the schedule on sky news.
What may appear perfect to you isnt in the eyes of some of us and to Sky, although I love the idea of Grainne getting her own time with John Suchet!
But I dont see why Julie Etchingham should be demoted seeing as she has her own slot for herself, why move her back to ordinary daytime news? And Live at 5 is these days one of those things that needs to be single-headed, even though I dont really like JT that much
But dont you see it as quite awkward having the "appointment to view" programmes beginning on the half-hours?
I would agree with most of that but I would have the following schedule;
6.00 Sunrise - Eamonn and Lorna
9.00 SN Today - Martin and Grainne
12 SN at Noon - Kay Burley
1pm SN Today - Steve and Anna Botting
5 Live at 5 - Chris and Paula
7 Sportsline - Jon Desborough
8 Sky Report - Julie
9 World News - Jeremy Thompson
10 SN Tonight - John Suchet and Juliette Foster
12am Sky News - Ginny/Samantha/Kevin
I would move Anna Jones to weekends to give Grainne a chance of dazzling us. I am not being my normal sarcastic self - I DO believe Grainne would be good in the main line up!

Leave Lorna on Sunrise, boot Ginny to overnights and have Grainne replace her on Sky News Today PM.
Nah, leave Ginny where she is and boot Eammon to overnights. Least then he wont have to walk around the studio and tire himself out.
Yeh the tubby guy always walks off early so he can make it to position in time.
But I say get rid of him altogether, and don't put him on overnights.

Care to make a dream schedule for us?
Nah - only joking. I agree with the school of thought that Eamonn being axed with leave a big dent in the bank balance. I don't really rate him - in saying that the only Sunrise presenter I ever rated was Simon McCoy. He was made for that slot.

Lucy Alexander was back this morning for Sunrise with Steve Gaisford. She seems to be getting quite a lot of experience at Sky News, given that she's only been there for a matter of weeks!
Something minor I know, but I noticed that after the 11am main ident, the ticker wiped on-screen, from left to right. Looked better.
Seeing as February was mentioned, I imagine it would be changed either tomorrow or Monday the 27th.

The problem with Surise, is that, as has been pointed out elsewhere - advertising. There were no billboards advertising him on Sky News - they just relied on the free press - there was, afterall an article in most newspapers, some having interviews with the man himself - but IMO that isn't enough.
I'd be tempted to cut morning Today back to 2 anchors. IMO Today was still a fresh and fast-paced news show before the relaunch. You felt the pace.Being actually IN the newsroom helped the presentation of it - they were right at the heart of the news, but now the set is so big that there is a less intimate feeling.
