Allan King has been on marathon lately; he's been on Today AM for the past few days, was back for Tonight at 9pm with Paula Middlehurst, and (I believe) he was back this morning for Saturday Live!

In todays irish independent it says that Grainne will be spending an entire week presenting Sunrise with Eamonn [6-10 March I think], along with alot of rumours that she may take over full time from Lorna on Sunrise to make it an All-Irish spot with Grainne, Eamonn and Lisa!

On another note, could someone send me mp3s of the announcemnts such as:
Live form the sky news centre, this is....
.....sunrise with eamonn holmes and lorna dunk;y
....sky news today with (both the am and pm presenters)
...world enws tonight....
...live at 5
and so on

it would be much appriicated...PM me with them if you wish

These "rumours" coming from the Independent? I think that it would be highly unlikely that she would take over on Sunrise as she's so new on the Sky News (UK) scene, and Lorna seems valued to them.

Besides, what would they do with Ms. Dunkley? Throw her on the overnights?

Leave Lorna on Sunrise, boot Ginny to overnights and have Grainne replace her on Sky News Today PM.

Yeah I would see it very unlikly too...but I'm just passing it on from what the papers say. This is the irish indo by the way

Just a few quotes from it:
"In the four months since its [SKY NEWS] relaunch, Sunrise has failed in that regard [refering to rivalry to BBC/GMTV]. The new-look show has been criticised foor dumbing down important news stories and Holmes has been attcked for his preference for light human interst stories.
His co-presenter, Lorna Dunkley has thus far failed to make the sort of impact that Natasha Kapliski has achieved on the BBC's morning schedual
And so the stage was set for the speculation that SNI presenter Grainne Seoige would be drafted in help resuscitate Sunrise with some commentators suggesting that Sky chiefs were planning an all-Irish "dream team"- comprising Seoige, Holmes and weather presenter Lisa Burke- taking chanrge of the program"
"British media observers are still buzzing about Grainne's London debut- and predicted that she'll be occupying the breakfast hot seat permanently sooner rather then later"
"Seoige is not keen to talk about the breakfast show and released the following statement through Sky News Ireland's PR: "Im looking forword to presenting Sky news from London and meeting more of my colleagues there. I am especially looking forwod to my week [6-10 March] co-presenting with my colleague from Belfast, Eamonn Holmes"

I need a cuppa tea now

For goodness sake, I think that the Irish Independent journalists have been reading the Scottish Daily Record from ten years ago.

I am sure some of fellow countrymen and women will remember the supposed feud between Jackie Bird and Anne over a jacket, among other things.

I just hope that Grainne and Lorna are able to realise their talents and continue to do well within Sky News without being hit by the press assassins.

The rumour that Grainne would join Sunrise was in last Sunday's Observer.

Yes leave Lorna on Sunrise but also leave Ginny on SNT because she is much better and more pleasant than Grainne. The main reason for lower ratings is Eamon is always talking about sport and everything that's not related to important or breaking news.So it's not Lorna's fault.Replace Eamon with someone else and return that Grainne to Ireland. Sky doesn't need any new presenters. It would be better if they would try to bring back some old faces like Lisa Aziz and Viv Creegor.

It would be too expensive for Sky to sack Eamonn than to keep him on-air.

Indeed - my comments relate to all press assassins not just Irish Independent assassins. In saying that - jockeying for position on a 24 news channel is not as bad as the 30 minute programmes; that's the ones print journalists love to get the knives out for!
