Sky News Today AM seems to be changing anchoring teams completely from day to day.

Yesterday it was Allan King, Juliette Foster and Helen Fospero.

Today it is Grainne Someone, Martin Popplewell and Emma Crosby!!

Retaining just one face for continuity would be a good idea. That said, Grainne Someone (sorry, but just can't remember the surname) is extremely good and well suited to the programme. I like it.

Today was probably the best morning edition of Sky News Today since the relaunch and why was that? The three normal presenters were off.

Martin Stanford along with Grainne and Emma Crosby could make the show work and stop Sky's decline.

Yesterday afternoon, caught a glimpse of Ginny Buckley after some time. She seems to be settling into the role.

I also see today brings the slight comeback usage of the VoteO5 graphics. However the loop on the newswall needs to be longer or loop with more of a fade between, because it looks like a very short animation.

Its interesting seeing how the new graphics may have fitted in with the election in May 2005.

Yea the animation did look a bit too short, cos you could clearly see when it restarted again and again, but it looked very nice on the newswall, i've always loved the VoteO5 graphics.

Is it Skys own stenographer providing the transcript or the court one? Normaly is it just a reporter/producer in court running out and phoning through the verdict after its read?
I remember reading somewhere that they're neatly sidestepping the rule which prevents mobile phone calls and recordings in courts by bringing in a laptop with a GPRS data card, and sending their own transcript using that.

The ticker went a bit wonky this morning - at around 9.45, the entire screen went flickery, and the ticker was also flicking on and off screen. They faded it out, and brought up the clock DOG on its own, and tried out one or two static tickers - which don't quite seem to line up to the clock, which is one or two lines higher than it ought to be.
They sorted it out just before going to the 9.55 break.

I only saw it briefly, but the VoteO5 animation does look grand on the newswall, especially when they're at the small circular desk.

Actually, I take that back about the Vote O5 graphic - it's far too short!

The intonation on Gráinne's name on the voiceover sounds a little odd - I think it was recorded with just Sky News Ireland in mind, where she'd be the only presenter. At 10 o'clock, they put her name first in the list, so it sounded like the end of a sentence.

Have they stopped using the "cube" on Live at 5". Don't remember seeing it for a while?

Stopped using it before Christmas. The "Lets go Nationwide" phrases still pop up occasionally however.
