I'd love to know what happened to the old Sky News set, I am sure it's pretty derelict at this moment. Sad

Hmm. Not sure about Sky's Oscars coverage being preceded by a sponsorship sting for Givenchy.

I know 'proper' news can't be sponsored, but it still seems like the thin end of the wedge.

I've just been watching a piece about Hybrid cars with Mark & Ginney outside the Sky News Centre. I am sure they were using a SAT truck to get the pictures back. Forgive my bluntness but would it not be easier to lob a cable out of the window?

Depends where the gallery is. If the gallery is close to the outside wall of the building then yes that would be no problem. However if the gallery is in the middle of the building then it probably won't be safe to have a long wire trailing through corridors and around corners etc.

Why do it live? Couldn't they just record it?
Oh so many questions!

No probs.

Brian Daly done some overnights a few weeks ago and hasn't been seen on SNUK since. Maybe Grainne will only do a few shifts and return to SNI.

Who's currently presenting the Ireland bulletins?
