Am currently sat watching an in-depth report from Iraq I think and the amount of swearing going on is unbelievable, not just mild swearing but mother f*cker, f**k etc.

I know its post watershed here but as Sky always like to point out they broadcast around the world, someone is watching this while they eat the breakfast.

Ohh and its completely graphics free at the moment.

Sky always remove the ticker during the documentaries they now show.

The onscreen clock and DOG is being generated by Sky tx, you can tell as the clock is centred and looks a lot cleaner.

As to the language, I think in this context it's fine. It helps bring across the true feelings of the soldiers. If you think this is tough, try watching an episode of "Over There"

Anyone noticed sometimes there is a translucent cloth or some sort of frosted netting between the light strips (sorry I cant remember there real name!) and the newsroom in the area they do the press preview. Also the light strips change to more colours too.

Ive seen Orange Red, Dark Blue, teal, yellow, purple and pinkyish colour. Surprised

I know that, except some of the colours vary. Eg : Sky News Tonight usualy purple, some nights its viberant pink. Sky News Today (Blue) becomes tealish colour etc ... Its deffinatly happened. Does anyone know how the fins or whatever they are called work?

I can't remember exactly who the interviewee was, but Martin Popplewell was speaking to a senior Lib Dem (party chair?), and asked if there were any other bits of Lib Dem gossip that he might want to share. His response was along the lines of "Yes, there probably are, but you know as well as I do that this country has quite strict libel laws". It was just a bit of good-humoured banter, and I'm sure the Lib Dems haven't been up to anything worse than any other party...


I saw this too and it wasn't jokey banter. I have no doubt that Martin Popplewell knows of another scandal in the Lib Dems. He was speaking to the Sky political correspondent Peter Spencer when he said it.

Is the DOG generated at TX?? I thought it was part of the ticker.

I think it was Martin who was saying that the clock comes from TX when there is no ticker. There is also a difference in that the clock ins centralised.

And why is Tim Marshall on again? Not that I'm complaining.

It looks eerily different when there is no ticker. Distinctly out of place I'm thinking. The straps don't look right without the ticker either.

The ticker went bit wrong during the Sky Report then went compleatly before after awhile a seperate dog turned up. The graphics look strange with out the ticker..
