What a great idea. Replace Malcolm in the Middle with something that's also being shown on another channel.
I could get myself a job in scheduling if only I hadn't been so good at "pin the tail on the donkey" as a kid.

Digital Spy is reporting that the 6.30pm edition of Sky News Ireland is going to be shown on Sky One from January.
EDIT: It's on Sky One Ireland, not UK, my mistake, though it appears they're doing a Sky Three.

This is a classic Sky tactic. In the early days, Sky News Sunrise was shown on Sky News, Sky One and EuroSport. These days, Good Morning Sports Fans is usually simulcast on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports News, and Racing News is a simulcast between At The Races and Sky Sports.
Now, they're going to put their only local production on both Sky One Ireland and Sky News Ireland, an expensive production that gets far less viewers than RTE News: Six-One or TV3 News @ 6.30. They're doing it to give the bulletin as many viewers as they possibly can. It does make business sense.

I don't mind them making an effort cat - I've liked some of their previous christmas newswall animations. I just don't care much for this particular one.

Talk about a bunch of scrooges.
They've done something similar on the newswall for the past four years or so. They generally make an effort at Christmas.
If you hop over to TV Ark, you can see the ident when they even turned the globe at the TOTH into a Christmas pudding. Think it's from 98/99. Looks pretty impressive!

This morning they've gone nuts over a little bit of snow. 5 minutes at the top of the bulletin. And why? Because it's affecting southern England. We had snow in Scotland/NI/N England at the end of November. Were there correspondents live in the snow? Was the newswall a snow scene? Were we invited to send live video pictures of the snow to them?
No.
I haven't seen BBC News 24 this morning. It's probably nearly as bad.
Never mind BBC Sport. Let's move BBC News to the North of England.

Ummm!! Your right on the money about BBCnews24 Marksi. They spent a fair bit of time reporting in the snow this morning.
They only do this to show the rest of the country how unprepared for snow the South East is, so the rest of you can laugh at us.
