It's quite "Sky Movies Xmas" style - al in all, a very Sky Christmas! Looks nice and warming.

Interesting that Sky seems to only be doing a 4 minute summary at the top of the hour (Christmas Day) before running a review of the year (currently entertainment).

So - Martin Popplewell is doing the morning shift - he also did the Saturday evening shift togethet with Juliett Foster.

So, who is anchoring tonight? And who is doing the shifts tomorrow?

Steve Gaisford and Kay Burley did Sunrise this sunday morning

I think its (26th Dec) Allan King and Emma Crosby on Sunrise.
Paula Middlehurst and Ana Boulter during the day.
Jeremy Thompson and Ginny Buckley during the evening.

Martin Popplewell did the daytime shift yesterday, and was caught unawares for several seconds before coming back from the break at one point - slouched back in his chair, then straightening his tie (Cockney geeza style), clearing his throat and then brushing down his jacket......

Maybe it was just us International viewers who saw that error - perhaps we opted in too early.

After watching him for hours yesterday, I suddenly realised what a rather schoolboy accent he has......

Paula Middlehurst appeared to present Live at 5.

I thought exactly the same thing when I saw it earlier today - it should have been slower and subtler.

Isn't it a bit OTT? It's only Xmas, a tree would do.

Talk about a bunch of scrooges.

They've done something similar on the newswall for the past four years or so. They generally make an effort at Christmas.

If you hop over to TV Ark, you can see the ident when they even turned the globe at the TOTH into a Christmas pudding. Think it's from 98/99. Looks pretty impressive!

I was just having a look at the sky christmas pudding on tv ark when I came across this from 1998/99...

News at 10 end

I really like the way Sky used to finish News at Ten with a montage of pictures from the days stories. They should reintroduce it, and make News at Ten stand out as a bulletin to match the BBC and ITV. They should also bring back a News at Ten ident, and also possibly have 2 different presenters presenting it...Jeremy and Anna???
