My issue is with the evening coverage

7.30pm - 8.00pm Sportline
8.00pm - 9.00pm The Pledge
9.30pm - 10.00pm Sophie Ridge

There's also often a filler on at 7.00pm.

It can easily be sorted by moving the Pledge out.

I’m confused as to why Sportsline is still a thing to be honest. It’s also on twice on Saturday 7:30pm/9:30pm and Saturday Sport at 11:30am too. Anyone that interested in Sport will just watch Sky Sports News instead, I’ve got friends who love sport and tune in SSN fairly frequently but I doubt many are even aware or interested in Sportsline on Sky News. It’s just another filler but it’s pointless filler when there’s a whole channel doing sport news and updates. .

Not everybody has access to SSN and most channels have extended sports bulletins of some sort - whether it be Sportsday on BBC, World Sport on CNN etc.
And the Sportsline bulletins at least do seem to focus on the day's big sports stories - some of the CNN World Sport bulletins by comparison (sorry to bring CNN up again on a Sky News thread) have several packages clearly taken from their canned programs like The Circuit or Living Golf which seem to be in the bulletins mainly to fill the time.

Sky have just said US midterms coverage starts tonight at midnight? Is this a special extra programme or have they just promoted it on the wrong date (Midterms on are Tuesday, so coverage would be Tuesday night / Wednesday morning).

As per this tweet it is tonight

And yes, Faux News is still only 720p in the States.

Well that explains they’re still relying on Fox for live shots. I wonder if a certain transition period was aloud or if they are paying for News Edge.

I expect they were paying before the Comcast takeover. I assume similarly the business unit will stay at The News Building.

Sportsline also covers a much broader range of sport than SSN which is even more football orientated on a Saturday than usual.

True, but I’m assuming at a discounted “family rate”.

I imagine it'll go to Sophy Ridge if she wants it (although it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see a job share between Sophy and Beth).

all new Phil
Doesn’t surprise me - they never seem to have treated him as an Editor or even really as one of the channel names.

Beth seems the obvious (and well deserved) choice but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them poach from elsewhere. We’ve seen a number of people leaving the BBC since all this salary malarkey.

Good news about Faisal. Looks like Comcast want Sky News to get back to its roots and try and get the missing millions back.

Bring back Joey!!!
