I’m sure it’s also a high pressured situation if the Tills go down in Tesco but I don’t expect the manage to tell Julie on till 3 to “sit the xxxx down”.

As someone who has a job in retail, I can tell you there is enough pressure when the till are working, never mind when they aren't. Laughing

However, the point does still stand. For most people, acting in such a manner at work would result in disciplinary action at best, or a P45 at worst. The statement from Sky News really does not excuse his actions and I have to agree with the comments of others, that he should be dropped as a presenter. He wasn't a good presenter to start with, and this certainly hasn't helped his image or the image of Sky News, as an organisation.

Try working in retail/a shop and being on television at the same time... Very Happy

With the Adam Boulton story going viral I bet Comcast is looking at his past outbursts and employee record. If they find anything to fire him I believe they would to send a message that no matter who you are you have to behave well.

Apparently he's usually a really nice person - maybe he does just get stressed on telly. There's no excuse for the swearing and that's absolutely awful, he should have some consequences, but I've heard that he's actually really nice and actually - don't get me wrong I quite like her - but nearly everyone at Sky fears Burley. Apparently she's a monster

I get what you mean about Kay, she seems nice but I don’t doubt you. She’s been there since it launched and probably knows anyone importants secrets or indiscretions. However with with the executive board being turned over and likely management changes she won’t know as much. Consequently she won’t have anything to back her up so to speak.

Here's an example. On Sunday, The Observer had an article about low-paid workers across Britain being 'forced' to live in vehicles. They featured Bristol.

This was the headline:-

Hundreds of low-paid workers across Britain are forced to live in vehicles.

Today, Sky News has a report with this headline:-

Hundreds of people in the UK are being forced to live in cars and caravans because their salaries do not cover the rising cost of rent.

Sky News featured Bristol, too!!

Almost the same headline (using the emotive 'forced'), and the same location (even though it's supposedly an 'across Britain' problem).

I don't see how that explains a "tie-up" with The Guardian at all (which has already been denied on the previous page). Sounds to me like news programmes following up stories that appear in the papers, which has been a part of TV news since it was invented. The headline doesn't sound at all similar either.

It doesn't.
Sounds like the world's most boring conspiracy theory.

I never said a 'tie-up', I said 'aligned'. In this instance they took a story from The Guardian saying people are 'forced' to live in caravans and repeated the accusations. There is no evidence they're forced and no journalistic questioning as to why they live in vehicles.

All evidence I’ve seen suggests that Kay is very popular with her colleagues.
