If I feel like having lunch at 10am, I can have lunch at 10am. Don't judge.

(Nice to see the Lunchtime Live branding return.)

Exactly! It’s unbecoming for people to become lunchist.

I’m looking forward in particular to the Mark Austin hours. I think it will look and feel great. I hope Sky News will make these hours look and feel distinctly different from the rest of the branded output.

The Return of the Anchorman, in the true JT sense.

I wonder who will be his main dep?

People who do brunch? Also remember in this day and age one can eat breakfast/lunch/dinner/tea/supper at any damn time they please. Much like one can eat cornflakes for their main evening meal if they so wish.

I never would have guessed that post would receive such outrage.

There was never any change suggested other than the schedule. Just TVF putting 2+2 together to get something ridiculous as previously!

Actually there was! Back in January when the studio launched there was a post from Sky Creative which was about a new and fresh look for Sky News. This post was removed after a few minutes. Then somebody asked why the text in the straps aren't lowercase to match the ones of Sky Sports News. The answer was '' Keep your eyes peeled''. Then I have rarely spotted ( one or two times) in the past half year a slightly different background for videos and pictures in portrait format and don't fill the whole screen. Also someone posted that there would be a new theme tune when they move to the new studio. Nothing happened... Plus after 3,5 years having this we just hope for a new ToTH and more. And I still hope this will be the case when Skynews turns 30 next February!

There was never much indication that there'd be a new look or anything beyond name changes/slight change in slots.

It does look like they've at least tried to differentiate the presentation of the slots - as much as is possible within the confines of the current branding.
I do feel though like the 'Kay Burley Show' is basically just going to be her current show but with a special name,

With respect, a one-off Twitter post from well over half over half a year ago was never going to be proof of a new look this month.

And while the graphics haven't changed hugely, to be fair to Sky have moved to two new studios during that period - whether that's for better or worse it's what has happened. To pretend the channel is identical to 3 years would be inaccurate.

Labour conference seems to be over 4G as it jumps from pixelated to not quite often. Weird they couldn't get an SNG outside considering they knew the event date for ages?

Quite snazzy music there for a news channel promo. While I applaud this direction, it seems all rather messy. No doubt ‘Newshour’ is an attempt to take on BBC News at Five and to try and pick up viewers before the BBC and ITV newshours.

I think ‘The Kay Burley Show’ would have been better named just ‘Kay Burley’. I also think Dermot’s slot is a bit of a letdown. Could have been a poltically skewed show based in Westminster but as was eluded to earlier here, it’s just bascially a generic Sky News bulletin. Seems like an afterthought.

Kay Burley Live would be the best name IMO.

As for the changes, I was thinking they would mix up the glassbox presentation, not just stick to the newswall all the time.

You haven't seen it on-air yet..

Oh, and there'll be no pres overhaul on Monday, just new elements for the new shows.

Do we know if Mark Austin will keep his famous catchphrase?
