Problems during the 23:30 Press Preview on Sky News, it appeared to abruptly cut away from the Glass Box to a special report which then ended mid-sentence with a wipe but without a fade on the sound into the adverts before midnight. The Pledge on now as per schedule.
EDIT: Always check twitter before posting here. It seems they couldn’t broadcast the 23:30 papers so a repeat of the previous nights was shown instead before clearly someone thought bad idea and cut to the special report mentioned above. Not sure of exactly what the issue was, but to show the previous nights sounds like one of the worst contingency plans.

Did they perhaps intend to show a repeat of tonight's 22:30 edition but instead it was last night's edition, so pulled it when they realised?

Now showing the Ocean Rescue documentary instead of Sky World News. Something's gone badly wrong this morning!

4am UK and another Ocean Rescure documentary is on.
5am Hotspots on now.

Wonder if Sunrise will go ahead in an hour?

Did Sunrise start at 6am as normal? Seems they must have had some major issues to not manage any live news overnight.

Sunrise did make it to air - with only Niall Paterson presenting.

Not sure how new it is but noticed a new back half-hour programme during the most recent hour - 'Week In Interviews' - that I hadn't seen before

Thought some might enjoy this piece of nonsense too from yesterday.

After her interview with Frances O'Grady earlier, Kay asked her if she'd join her for a 20-25 minute chat "on the sofa" when she launches the new show. Seems like they'll be properly differing from the half hourly repetition we get at the minute and the suggestion of the sofa might suggest a new set?

I believe that there are some sofas in Sky Central, which ISTR were used for Swipe when that was still going. Perhaps they'll be used?

Wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Based on the track record:

they’ll just plonk a sofa in front of the big screen in the glass box.

They’ll accompany it with new flat opening titles, tinny music, stark white / primary colours, and minimal on air branding

Then they’ll cancel the show in two years and do something else

From the graphics, to the glass box, to the Sunrise studio: it’s all been utterly underwhelming.

I can’t believe they’ve not realised that, but presumably it’s what they’ve wanted to do.

Sounds like something they could package up as back half hour filler and also pre-record too.

Anyone know when the changes to Sky's daytime output will come about?

It is supposed to be next Monday (see twitter feed), but I doubt it will be that soon.

Niall has already moved to Sunrise starting today (seemingly doing the same role as Jonathan Samuels used to do - a shame as the weekend format works far better) but I think Mark's role and Kay's new show start next week
