It must be the first time in recent history that Sunrise hasn't had a weather presenter on. They were reads out of vision by Stephen Dixon instead.

With a bit of help from Anne Diamond and Mick Brooker. They did a forecast each!

Has anyone else noticed the ‘SKY NEWS HD’ dog showing up on the SD channel over the past couple of days? Any idea why this would be? If anything, it’s a push to call the SD variant standard definition

I don’t understand how the John McCain memorial service is of interest to anybody in the UK. It’s currently being shown live on both Sky and BBC News. It would be like the US networks covering Ed Miliband’s funeral.

Ridiculous
A) everyone I know is interested
B) he is a hero, not simply an opposition figure. He fought for the US and was valient in elections

It fits in with their anti-Trump agenda. Same as the overblown Aretha Franklin coverage.

Would Ed Miliband's funeral get the same coverage in the UK as McCain's has in the US? I think that may help explain it. It's a huge US state occasion and merits coverage here.

I'd say it warrants coverage and there are several elements at play as to why its relevant. A long-serving US politician, former US Presidential candidate, POW, famously clashed with Trump and against everything Trump stands for. It's also huge for America which usually means it will get noticed here. The amount of coverage his death has had here is high due to Trump links, but if that was no so, it still would have had some coverage.

Was showing hours of coverage of the funerals of Jade Goody, Sonny Bono, Michael Jackson and Stephen Gatley part of the Anti Trump agenda as well.... Sky have always loved a funeral.

McCain is an American cultural and political icon who has been a U.S Household name for 40 years. To compare him to Ed Miliband is the silliest thing I have read on these boards in years.

It did be deemed rude too. McCain is better than 'all new Phil' will ever be
