Does anyone know if we will see a graphics change soon? I find the current ones very stale and jarring with the output! The clinical white backgrounds also need to go. When you compare to this:
Today’s offerings really do pale in comparison. I actually really liked that look and the lower thirds were particularly good but they didn’t seem to hang around long!

They did make some minor changes back in January, and if they were in any hurry to replace the current graphics, they probably would have done it then when they also introduced the secondary studio. Unless there is an insider who knows different from the rest of us, then I can't see any sort of changes anytime in the imminent future.
IIRC, the current look and the design prior were introduced in line with general elections in 2015 and 2010 respectively, obviously 2017 screwed up the chances of that happening in line with the next election (unless they stick with them til 2022) so for now, we can't use that as a hint either.
I wouldn't be surprised if we're stuck with this until ownership of Sky News is resolved. I'd hope the new owner will invest in something better than what we have now.

So frustrating, the presentation that viewers seem to like comes and goes so quickly yet this dull look seems to have been around forever!
I guess the one saving grace is that at least one person at SKY is currently unhappy with the look. This seems evident from the way they have been faffing about with the glass box lighting over the past few days. Subtle changes can make a significant difference so maybe they will get it right soon. Wish they did bring back the view over the atrium though! I remember one day when Colin and Gillian were presenting and it actually looked really good...
If they hadn’t needed to move away from Sky Centre, do you think they’d still have got rid of that brilliant old studio?

Fingers crossed! Any update on when that may be? Seems to have been back and forth for a while!
Let’s hope they bring back some kind of neon blue with a black ticker
The one piece of presentation I still don't understand is the massive, bright white background for the ticker at the bottom of the screen. It's alright during rolling news, but when they're showing something like Hotspots, it's incredibly distracting.

This is exactly what I was thinking. There were/are several hints that the new graphics package was/is ready but wasn't released in the end and this might be the reason why.
We can moan all we want about presentation but the bigger worry from my perspective is that they've just run a report on Love Island (and I say that as someone who watches it).

Well Love Island does have 2 stories on the BBC News website front page at the moment, it's placement suggesting it's the 2nd & 3rd most important story right now.

And it may be the case that the new owner may want to take it in a new direction. Disney may tow the line and keep it the same, but can the same be said for Comcast, where their share in Euronews has 'Americanised' some of the new shows.

It's bad enough the ITV Lunchtime News reverted to it's showbiz 2000s format with a banal interview with a pair of airheads in the studio.
