Interesting, this evening they have eliminated the red lighting out of the glass box. The lights in the mirror beside the big screen are now white again and the red bar in the corridor is now also white rather than red.
The lighting tonight is the worst it's ever been since they went back to the glass box after the old studio was closed.
It's far too bright for an evening program, earlier when Sarah was on it was even white and bright and one side and dark and a little purpley/blue on the other side.
If we're going back to bright white lighting on it's own again it's very much a retrograde step.

Today the lighting is different again, red is back and the yellow warm lighting is gone.
The wide shot of the desk with all three people for the press preview was really nice with the blue tint to everything, however the close up shots of the guests and presenter looked odd since it was very bright and looked out of place with the blue tinted wider shots.
Pretty amazing almost 2 years or so on, they haven't found a lighting they are really happy with, just shows how the glass box divides opinion.
Well I don't know why the refresh didn't come together with the new logo. Actually it seemed that they had prepared new graphics and new straps with lowercase letters (like ssn). I don't know why it hasn't happened in the end, maybe they want to wait for the perfect occasion which could be Feb 5, 2019? At least it feels that it is time for a refresh.
I’m so disappointed with Sky News at the moment! It seems content with being as bland and beige as possible these days to the point where I find myself watching All Out Politics just for the fact it still has a proper studio! I love the blue lighting tubes and gallery background as it feels so reminiscent of the old Sky News Centre. Out of interest, does anyone know why they have been in the ‘new studio’ for most of the weekend? I’m sure they normally use the glass box during the day after Sunrise

No they have always used the new studio during the day on Saturdays and Sundays.
