How often does Sky update the international forecast for their AppleTV, YouTube and other streams? I was watching early this morning around 5AM EDT so 10AM BST and they were still starting off the international forecasts with Saturday’s weather.

Are the updates automatic as in the computer knowing to get the forecast data, build the graphics and publish it (as countless stations do over here for their hyperlocal weather channel or website) or does Sky require manual intervention?

They didn't think the minor explosion at Southgate tube station which injured 5 people was worthy of a news at ten headline. If you were just tuning in now you would have no idea anything had happened as the ticker is back to the normal version. Not the right decision in my opinion as plenty of people seeing it on Twitter will be turning to the main broadcasters for the correct story instead of twitter speculation.

On the surface of it, a minor explosion at a Tube station in London is not a national 10pm news bulletin story. I assume Sky treat their 10pm like that.

They are showing a replay of Ian King Live at 01:30 and 02:30 this morning. a new thing or a one off?

Quite the breakdown this afternoon. The TOTH failed, so they then played the World weather (typically seen on the YouTube feed during the breaks) for a couple of minutes and now they're playing the documentary on plastics.

EDIT: broadcasting was resumed at approximately 14:30.

Going by my recording, they returned to normal programming at 14.33.

It was quite weird during the two ad-breaks in the impromptu documentary - they played footage of the awards Sky News had won, then kept displaying the old logo.

I guess that's a pre-compiled emergency tape with fillers in the ad break to pad it to time.

An active shooter in Maryland, so what are Sky News doing? Letting Sarpong and co shout at each other instead.
