Sky News looks **** at the moment. I don’t really have much that’s constructive to add to that, but the whole package of straps, stings, the new studio - they all look pretty poor since the new logo was introduced. Colours are too garish, and things look cheap and amateur. The only thing I really like is the glass box.

When you find their two temporary studios for the Royal Wedding better than the norm, it does make you think again about how they got the secondary studio so wrong. The box has warmed to me thanks to the lighting changes.

Totally agree.

Only comfort is that since it last changed in 2015, surely they’re due an overhaul.

I don’t understand how Sky Sports can get it so right, and yet...

There also seems to be so little life in the shows. You’d get the impression from the way Ian King, Tonight and others are put together that they’d only been doing this for a few months - not nearly 30 years.

All the fuss over the channel with the Comcast/Disney sale... ABC and NBC must look at the channel and wonder what on earth all the fuss is about.

Sky Sports gets it right because they have more money to play with.

I'm not sure Sky Sports is in such a great state presentation wise - the new look that came in last year is pretty minimalist compared to what came before and they cut the number of studios significantly with most shows whether it be The Debate, GoS, MNF all coming from the same studio.

There's one particular section of that studio that has a massive vertical screen behind the presenter which just ends up looking ridiculous on-screen like this image below.

That said they still have the SSN studio which is easily Sky's best studio - it looks huge on screen and is versatile with plenty of presentation points.

Sky News's on-screen look isn't the most dynamic at the moment (and I think it could be a bit more lively while still being all about the news) but it's pretty clean and does the job and is at least settled rather than that period around 2006-2009 where the look and schedule seemed to be constantly changing.

The ticker on Sky News right now seems to be showing a single story about the Manchester service being held and a list of the victims of the attacks (normal ticker not breaking news one).

Lots of people on Twitter are sad about that. I caught it every now and then and thought it was a good short programme, Sky News is just so boring these days. Even the press previews don't hold my attention like they used to do. That said they do still excel at covering major events but day to day its a shadow of what it was just a couple of years ago.

The last episode was last week....@SkyNewsSwipe 14 hours ago....We wanted to let you know that a decision has been taken not to continue producing Swipe which means last week’s show was our last. Sky News will still cover the best of tech news across all our platforms. Thank you for being brilliant followers over the years. The Swipe Team.

I wouldn't be surprised if Swipe is replaced with more long form reports? There was an 8 min piece from Rebecca Williams yesterday and another from Hannah Thomas-Peter today.

Only looks ridiculous because of the way they’re using it.

Sunrise coming from the glass box this morning. So much better.

Not sure why Sky bother showing Trooping the Colour, they seem to have one camera at Bucks Palace from a distance as long as the reporter doesn't stand into shot.

Looks like they have one camera at House Guards too, just a shame the camera work is so bad. LiveU quality too. Is requesting rights to the world feed that expensive?
