I don't think the Glass Box itself was every really the problem (even though it had obvious issues) - it's how it sat alongside the other studios which were still being used and it just stuck out like a sore thumb. Trouble is now they're back in there it's the same issue - great to have three studios (though I don't see the need) but they need to look like they are all part of a coherent brand.

You're always going to need a studio in Millbank though to get the political guests - it's literally across the road from Westminster - I'd argue that it's likely that the studio there is going to stick out more than anything.

With the new Sunrise Studio you'd surely be able to change that as much as you want with the screens so it's not going to be too hard to adapt that - the problem with overhauling Millbank is ideally it needs to be done during a political recess - so perhaps they may do it in the summer?

So, I’m assuming this has had an impact to the headcount involved in output. What roles are now left in the gallery? I’m hoping anyone impacted managed to find roles elsewhere in the business.

I would assume director, sound operator and autocue operator at a bare minimum.

I like the idea - but ideally that black needs replacing with a background.

I didn't think the ticker restarted every TOTH, but it seems to be at the moment.

Is a sound operator required? I thought BBC World might have been automating that - though perhaps manually operates at times?

Did anyone else get slight odd breakup on the external shot of the glass box at the TOTH?

For those who didn't see it they showed this shot at the end of the TOTH instead of Sky News logo slide, with the camera slowly moving down. It may well have been a mistake as the straps disappeared and reappeared a few times, but I hope it wasn't as it's nice to see wide shots of the studio.

Here's another wide shot from News @ 10 I captured for you!

I wonder if we'll see any shots of the atrium again? They stopped using any outward facing shots from the glass box last year.

I was talking about peak times during the day when there's lots of outside sources, guests etc to mix. Overnight, probably not.

The glass box looks awesome from that outside shot, they should use it more often. The automatic cameras going up/down etc is very futuristic like the BBC's news studio.
