Yes. Sadly the old studio looked quite desolate and aged in the most recent images and footage I saw. However, it served Sky News well and will be fondly remembered by us pres geeks and industry professionals in equal measure.

I had forgotten about the old balcony position until seeing a recent montage. Who remembers the famous Crosby and Gaisford Custard Creams-gate incident up there on the balcony?

I am possibly one of the very few on here who loved that era of Sky News. Triple headed presentation was so unique at the time, albeit short lived. I liked that look a lot.

Alas, the economics of business will never be far away......

Rados: what about your namesake? Where is she these days?

I have no idea what Ginny's up to these days. Such a shame Sky didn't give her a chance, she was much better than most bland faces that dominate the channel these days.

As for the Crosby and Gaisford Custard Creams-gate, I remember seeing that live and I also think I saw a video of it on YT but can't find it now.

Sorry ginnyfan but no mention of Sky News bloopers and Ginny Buckley is complete without this gem

Just one of many rabbit in headlights moments from Ginny.

Kay Burley will be doing another soft interview today with Helena Morrissey.

Looks like this one is also at an outside location like the Ruby Wax one - does anyone know where?

Wonder if this is going to become a regular thing, since they don't have access to a soft set anymore.

Question. Im sure Sky has obviously had a Manchester bureau, but I honestly cant remember it being used on-air. (Just thinking back to big Manchester stories) Im sure I've missed it being used. Today was the first time I recall seeing them use a skyline view out a window instead of a white background or graphics or something. Unfortunately it looks badly lit and the camera iris was jumping all over the place due to the light from the window. Additionally whomever was behind the camera, or if it was being controlled remotely (likely) from Sky Centre, had it jumping all over the place. Is that a new view? Cant remember. The view seemed to look out over Piccadilly Gardens (seems like Debenhams was in the background). Hard to tell. Sorry to be late to the party if so.

Just now again. They have a reporter talking about the Suffragette Anniversary from Manchester.

The skyline is flicking as well a lot, you can see what looks like the outline of the edges of a screen on the far left of the photo.

So you think its a monitor. I thought it was a window. When i first saw it and the camera was bouncing it try to settle and they were playing around with the iris, it looked like a window rather than a monitor. I could be wrong.

I'm not sure, but the background kept flickering and changing colour blue and the background didn't look like a moving image - I could be wrong since I only saw it for 15 seconds or so.

More background flickering on Ian King Live tonight.

Ginny presents escape to the country nowadays, and car reviews for the auto express ran - car buyer website and YouTube channel.
