You'll have to try harder than that. The BBC called us "geeks who should get a life" about 12 years ago!

The broadcasting industry is very harsh on anyone who does anything related to it, without getting paid for it. They consider Hospital and Community radio volunteers as worthy only of denigration. TV presentation enthusaists and jingle fans are even lower down the totem pole.

I am sure you’ve seen the posts on Twitter that are posted about this place by some prominent staff members. It’s just an honest discussion here where people try to figure out what happened or what went wrong.

I don't need to. I know from experience and other places just how harsh the broadcasting industry really is.

Despite the fact that many probably got their start in community or hospital radio. Probably akin to those in small market stations to large market here in the US. But I don’t think it’s that bad in the US as most start out small.

I know they’re running OverDrive (well atleast that was according to an article in 2017) but what kind of hardware is it controlling? Did the elect to buy a vision mixer control surface?

More problems just now before the break Kimberley said You're watching sk then it cut to a black screen for about 30 seconds before going to the adverts

Black screen only showed for a fraction of a second on the youtube stream, then went straight to weather maps

Sounds like a technical issue at their playout suite rather than Sky News. Although News have to be finished by a fixed time every hour for the top of hour break so probably an issue with the timings too

I've looked, and readed comment on here and even watch a few more hours of the channel since the change of the sudioes, and some people are right there is a problem here. However some people are way of the mark.

Glass box, still no problems here, I think its been a great addition to the sky news and with the recent minor makeover has given it a bit more live. I hope the look panning out to the doors makes a comeback ( see the bottom of the page)

I just can't warm to that new studio it just feels bland and lifeless, and the new green screen ( which will end up being used for election programmes ) it just meh.. as a viewer its feels uninviting and lifeless, and to straight lined. Sky moved away from that concept in 2005 ( thankful the BBC followed suit) At least ITV gives the illusion there some sort of other activities going on behind it.

Whats the reason the Studio 6 could be integrated with the new newsroom? Is that new newsroom smaller than the old one?

As it been said on here Sunday evenings seems to be some sort of dead zone, even AJ manages to have toph bulletin and even a half past on for most of its programmes why cant sky?

I believe reading that the Newsroom is on a different floor to the studio - I assume the new buildings were planned out this way when they were built - although I'd have to agree it would have been better if the newsroom and the studio were built next to each other.

Also how does Millbank work now - what is actually produced there and what is done through the new edit suite and gallery in the new building? Reason I ask is that since the relaunch Millbank based programs seem to not be suffering from the glitches that are seen in the programs from the glass box and studio 6.

I believe Millbank is now a fully capable gallery that could run its own output, certainly since its own refurbishment for its current look. In comparison the city studio has to go through one of the other galleries.

That would explain it then - I'm guessing they're still using a legacy system there rather than the new automated one that is used in the two new studios. Sensible enough that the City Studio goes through another gallery.

News at 10 strap used at the start of the 11pm headlines, went off eventually then came back on again twice more

Wrong name straps being used for a neighbour and headteacher shown the wrong way round, I checked back at the 9pm hour on the online feed and they did the same then too.

I'm not watching much of Sky news since new studio day and I'm not looking for errors they are just happening so often at the moment within 5 mins of switching on something happens. it just looks sloppy which is something sky news never used to be, an error was post worthy because it happened rarely.

edit - I've just seen for the first time that dot that appears at the side of the logo that a few people have mentioned, it stayed on for the first 2 minutes of the midnight hour. Do we know what it is yet?

Another minor thing I've noticed this morning is the breaking news ticker doesn't cover the weather symbols on the standard ticker properly, you can just see the very top and bottom of the boxes scrolling underneath it.

You can only see the bottom on the online feed but on my tv I can see the top too. only seems to be the weather symbols which must be a couple of pixels taller than the other ticker dividers

World weather before the TOTH now has a black background too
