The CSO really needs work, although I like the idea of having sport and weather sharing the same space during Sunrise. Really makes the BBC VR look futuristic!
I think the glass box looks a lot more like a studio now they've stopped using that harsh bright white lighting - It was way too bright all the time in my view, but it was particularly inappropriate in the evenings.
Now we appear to have moved to a toned down daytime lighting arrangement from what it was previously and the evening lighting is using warmer, cosier shades than during the day which is a massive improvement on what it was before - for me it's the biggest improvement of the lot.
If you compare the box now to launch day in 2016, it's vastly better
Yesterday Sky News made its final shift to a new studio and new technology - so it’s goodbye to the old newsroom. Empty today... pic.twitter.com/RbKKvG9hOW
Looking at that picture, it all looks rather small, especially when you think how many presentation areas were fitted into that space back in 2005.
Overall I'm not a massive fan of VR, but like has been said it adds an element of flexibility. It's not quite right when viewing for some reason. ITV News have it spot on, but it has taken them a few attempts to get it right.
The glass box seems much better than before with the change of lighting. I love the wide shots of the box. It's a shame that they cannot use other areas of Sky's central for segments, the promo space beneath the box would be ideal, though doubt that it's technically possible.
I just saw the Greenscreen on TV looking back at Sunrise - it really is very poor and doesn't look at all realistic, from the lights on the ceiling to the background - here's a grab of it.
The actual big screen and floor on it look fine, it's just everything around it that is so unrealistic.
Compare that to the old Green Screen Studio in the old building behind the presenters.
Yes - it's a different design, but it looks realistic and like a real studio - the current one looks like a video game background that's had a screen and presenter superimposed on it.
I really quite like it, simple, clear, quite artistic, and effective.
This promo shows a kind of design different to the current one, it is more like the SSN design. Also, only small letters are used and the logo is splitted vertically, not horizontally. Maybe a sign of more changes to come e.g. to the lower thirds and the ToTH.
New Ian King Live title card- I like all the new title cards, they're clean and consistent but a bit more unique to each show compared to the generic blue before.
The VR part of the studio would benefit from a real floor. It looks like they've tried to give the impression that the VR Screen backs on to the glass box with the design of the "newsroom" in the background only there aren't any virtual people.

I understand why sky not changed the presenationed bar the logo, its to keep it clean and simple while it cross all three platforms, TV, tablet and mobile. What might look great on TV might not look nice on Tablet, this is the world we live in now alas.
That new studio, I don't really like it, it seems cold and weird with that green screen over in the conner. I think that area could be better used, if it had sofas etc. If you need a big screen that could to the left and be more like what STV has for Scotland Tonight/ STV news tonight.
I'm not totally against VR even though I prefer real studios - but if Sky are going to use VR I'd prefer them to have much more realistic looking backgrounds. the floor isn't perfect but for me it's not the worst par.
I just really really don't like the newsroom, the ceiling or practically any of it apart from the screen - for me a realistic look is far better than an obvious CGI/computer game style look.
That being said, the graphics tweaks, the new title cards, the lighting changes and the remodeling of the glass box are all work that Sky should be praised for.
Overall I think Sky have got more right than they haven't, but the VR aspect of the new studio needs some work.
