News at 10 coming from Studio 6 this evening (with some wonderful camera pans by today's standard) - I've always thought the late shift would be better in this studio. Interesting to see how the Press Preview will work.

if it's anything like it is on Sunrise when they do paper reviews at weekends, it'll be very bland.

Exactly how it is on Sunrise. They would be better off rotating the desk to replicate the set up in the Glassbox.
Jonathan also said "...in our new studio" which sounds this more than just a one-off.

EDIT: Jonathan has said on Twitter the studio move is due to engineering works

The camera movement into NAT was brilliant; all it needed was the voice of God!

Reflecting polls where a minority don't want him coming to the UK? So you agree it's partisan then?

I haven’t seen the promo, so I can’t say too much. But it’s sounds like that part of the promo is just reflecting some of the controversy and protests around the visit which is one of reasons the visit warrants the amount of additional coverage it will get over a normal state visit.

They've tried to make the virtual studio look like the glass box.

Hard to say if it's better or worse than the glass box, it doesn't look terrible but it doesn't look good, it just looks meh.

Should have held it in Westminster instead.

It actually looks better in Studio 6.

That's not the virtual side of the studio. What you see is ALL real.

I think the 9/10/11pm news and Press Preview all looked better in 6 last night - the should've set the PP up like Ridge today. Now we need this to become permanent.

Didn't see it last night so can't tell but will have a look tonight.

A post has been removed which referenced a story in an article elsewhere which have been disputed. Please keep this discussion to presentation related matters too - I know it can be hard when Sky do a promo with a giant baby Trump blimp but try to keep it on topic.

Hopefully the glass box will look a bit more interesting visually if it’s being updated. I still think dropping the main view of the atrium was a mistake, one of the key features of the glass box was that it was at the heart of Sky’s new building. Now the main view is the big screen and the stairwells each side of the studio, there’s so much more they could do with it.

With some additional lighting inside the box and some monitors placed in the atrium, it could make a really nice backdrop. I find the Westminster studio quite dingy in comparison.
