I note both Jane and Carrie on BBC News are in black. Are we expecting something or just a nice day to wear black?

A word to the wise. Try not to read too much into a) the colour of somebody's clothes and b) two people wearing the same colour on the same day doing the same job for different companies. It's not worth it.

You may want to take a look at this legendary 2005 thread https://tvforum.uk/thenewsroom/tonights-anchors-wearing-black-channels-17943/

I was around back then, just fun now and again to bring up when newsreaders are in black. Not one, but two Very Happy

No it isn't, because it means a senior member of the Royal Family might have died.

Well fun in the sense it gets some on here to trip over themselves when newsreaders are wearing black for no apparent reason, as appears to be the case today.

If by "some", you mean (on this occasion) just you, then yes, but it's still in poor taste, especially as we probably wouldn't question two male presenters wearing black suits.

This is TV Forum, of course someone would! (if a thick black, mourning tie)

I'm giving up on this, trying to get through to you is pointless...

Well, in no way is it poor taste. So we'll have to agree to disagree. If that's your bar for poor taste then crikey is all I can say.

Adam Boulton just welcomed viewers of the 11am TOTH to 'Sky News Today'. First time it's been referred to as that on air in recent years?

Sky EPG lists it simply as Sky News, however I thought it had been rebranded as 'Lunchtime Live' when Ian King Live moved to 1:30?

If they don't want it to be a simple Sky News block they really need to settle on a title and actually call it that on air.

EDIT: Seems to be a new graphic in use for the block as well.

Isabel Webster welcomed viewers to 'Sky News Today' on Friday as well.

Meant to post this earlier, Sky News Today branded title card was used for the 12pm TOTH, must have missed it at 11.

Guess they figured Lunchtime Live was a stupid name for a strand beginning at 11am...
