It is the obvious uplifter. Perfect for a sports channel though rather than BBC1/2.

It's available online anyway. The BBC doesn't have the longform rights anyway, they revert to the IOC after around seven months.

I thought the rights always reverted back to the broadcasters in Olympic year.

If they can't screen everything they can at least reshow the Opening Ceremony as they have before. (The Closing Ceremony wasn't great anyway.)

I'm all for the rerun of 2012.

The IOC as far as I'm concerned is exposing itself as a bunch of money grabbing out of touch lunatics. I'd use stronger language, but I'd only get told off by the Headmaster in here.

Yes, even if we are relatively OK by June having folk from around the world gather in one place then return will just risk a second wave.

Another change to the press preview last night. They only had 1 reviewer on for each hour and they were sat diagonally at the far side of the desk closest to the big screen whilst the presenter Dermot was sat at the other far side of the desk closest to the camera. He said they had measured it and it was 2m apart

Where is that large Sky News room where they interview correspondents, not seen it before. Also what does it say on the blue pillar in the background with the letters "..tregit.." embosed on it? and if my eyes arn't deceiving me, is that a blue EU flag with gold stars on the far back wall too?

No sorry. If it helps, it appears to have large white windows on the far back wall. I have only seen it in use over the last few days and pretty sure its not Millbank.

Assuming this is the place you're talking about?

As far as I'm aware it's their newsroom in Osterley.

also when interviewing them from "the newsroom". Is that a green screen as notice the screens in the background have different play out?

The output is on the screen immediately behind and to the left of him, so that's live. Don't think theres any chroma key involved.

Of the five wall-mounted screens behind I can make out a couple:

1) Not sure
2) Sky Sports News
3) Sky News (off air, approx 10 sec delay)
4) BBC News (24)
5) Multiviewer?
