I think they’ve said that since Kay started this programme when the new studio launched last September. I think Kay may have introduced herself there? So it was “It’s 9am, I’m Kay Burley, which means you’re watching the only Breakfast Show live from Westminster.” Because the programme title was her name. Since she’s left they just taken away the name check.
That would make sense, but saying what they say at the moment makes no sense at all.
Personally I think Sky News is ready for a thorough shake-up. It's become tried and boring and lost the sharp edge that it used to have in its presentation style, look and feel.
"It's 9 o'clock, which means you're watching the only Breakfast Show live from Westminster." Since when has the time of day meant what I am watching?

If thats true. It will likely be a progression of what we already see. I doubt we get anything major like in years pasts when they would completely revamp everything. Seems like those days are well and truly over. The BBC and Sky only seem to do slight, barely perceptible variations of their existing presentations. Most people barely notice anyway. The "new" logo probably wasnt even noticed by the average viewer. Those massive, top to bottom changes are seemingly a thing of past or at least very rare. Now you only glacial changes in news presentation. I wonder why the trepidation has been come a thing in news these days, where as years ago you'd seemingly get a total new look at least every 5-10 years. Oh well. I guess we have to look forward to pages and pages of entire threads dedicated to a new red line added here, font or kerning change or swapping out of a new stock image on a white background title pages. Whoopity doo.

Sky news experiencing some technical problems from 3am GMT. During a report the screen went blank and cut to an advertisement for ‘the pledge’ but with the sound of the report still playing. The ticker was also gone from TOTH until about 3:10am.

I didn't think the pledge was still running.

Quite the stretch for something you haven’t even seen.

'barely perceptible'
The total revamp of the lower thirds and full form graphics - one of the biggest changes to the look of BBC News in 7 years was barely perceptible was it?

It isn’t. The graphic is part of the long-established gallery test procedure, so it’s still in the system.

There was also a problem with the start of The Early Rundown at 6am, the TOH sequence didn’t play out at all and it was just the logo on screen for about a minute. It then cut to Kimberley who had already started introducing the first package.
