And we’re off and running. Niall Paterson and his Early Rundown up first.

I have to say, Niall is a likeable guy. Great presenter too.

First the positive. I like the title card.

Twice In the first 30 mins we lost his mic when they switched from 1 camera to the other

From 6:30am -6:45am it’s basically an exact copy of the 06:00 - 06:15 stories but then we did get a 2 minute business section and now he’s looking at the papers with the new name “the media wrap”

Quite a few time checks too throughout the programme but unfortunately he could not see the time just now so said it’s 06:43, 06:45. actually it’s 06:48

I expected Kay to be inside at this hour but instead it started with her on the sky news platform In Westminster. Can we call it a box? Looks like it has those panels up like they had earlier in the year to drown out brexit megaphone man and it’s looking quite nice with some black and white sky news logos. The bottom panels are also lit up

Slight change to the headlines with a quick look at the currencies and a very brief weather update

Papers are also called “the media wrap” with Kay

Kay keeps mentioning a funky new app but it looks the same it’s looked for months to me

Weather coming from the glass box too like it does during the early rundown

I assume there's a reason they couldn't have had the Palace of Westminster in the background of the opening shot. She could have been anywhere!

I was within sight of the palace at 7am this morning, it wasn't lit up (I think).

Bit of a bland and lacklustre start... I find it amazing they go through rehearsals for these 'new' shows, The Early Run Down is really nothing out of the Sky News bland norm we are use to by now, just a new title card.

I was expecting the Kay Burley@Breakfast branding to feature on screen in the way it does throughout All Out Politics and Ian King Live. Considering this is Sky News putting their big name in the prime spot, it really didn't stand out.

I enjoyed The Early Rundown this morning. Great lighting and the weather forecasts look a lot better from the new camera angle than from the CSO in Studio 6.

I was rather disappointed that the first @Breakfast programme didn't come from the Millbank studio. I was looking forward to seeing it relit with that orange theme.

It was pointless being outside Parliament as the building wasn't lit up, and nobody was there who couldn't have walked round the corner to the studio. Even those pesky protesters hadn't yet got out of bed.

The Early Rundown was better. Niall is a good presenter, and it's an easy format to dip in and out of when getting ready for work.

It was the same last year when the KBS launched. Then she was at a conference or something. So apparently done on purpose.
