This is in the new studio - but the new Five studio in the same building as Sky's new set.

Sky, as I've said many times before, will not be using their new set until after the general election.

Five's set is not in the same 'room' as Sky News' new set, so you can all calm down.

Does anyone know when the last ITN produced Five News will be shown, I've had a look at the schedule for December 31st and there appears to be no bulletin, but there is a bulletin scheduled for 5.50pm on December 30th, though I don't think that will be the last.

I don't really watch the main Five News bulletins at teatime but it will be interesting to see how different the 12.00pm bulletin will be, as I find that one the best, though it's going to be odd without Rob Butler, but Charlie Stayt is still remaining which is good.

Presumably on Sunday 2nd of January?

I am guessing with the 'room' remark, it is more of an area than a sectioned off little quarter of its own.

Given that you know so much about the thing, perhaps you could offer some more insights as to what we can expect?

Sooner than you'd think! Looking at the Christmas edition of the Radio Times it would appear that the last full-length weekday Five News produced by ITN will be this coming Friday 17th December. The Noon, 1730 and 1900 slots from thereon appear to be short updates.

I thought the ITN contract runs out on the 31st December? Unless ITN are doing it that weekend I'm not sure, though there is very little listed in the TV Guides, all I can see most days are the 5.50pm bulletins.

No, Sky are taking over on the 1st. Or to be more specific, they take over with the short updates on the 1st, with the first full programme on the 3rd IIRC.

I don't know everything, Cat. I'm just passing back the bits I do know.

No need for attempting to patronise me.

AIUI they have already started the full dry runs too.

I was getting hopeful reading those interviews. At least Five News may offer some food for thought in the forthcoming changes for Sky News

I wasn't being patronising, I was just suggesting that as you seem to know more than the rest of us, perhaps you would like to share everything you know rather than just mentioning snippets of information whenever something related comes up.

At the moment, Cat, you know everything I know.

I've let bits out in snippets only because I only came across the information from an old friend recently.

No conspriracy, I'm just passing on what I know.

Perhaps be glad and appriciative that I have, rather than digging into me.

All I am saying is that I find it irritating that, when someone suggests something, you come out and contradict it with a snide remark, but when asked exactly what you do know you throw your hands in the air and say 'don't look at me, guv, don't know a thing'.
