The programme was a lot better than the live recording, where Trevor in particular was quite poor.

The finished programme is a triumph of editing!

Yeah, there was obviously a struggle for worthwhile content, what with the caption competition being shown at the end and what seemed like an age before the credits started playing over the music: the boards and all already turned and the camera had panned right out of the studio.

Apparently Sir Trev isn't all that impressive in real life, especially when it comes to something off the cuff or simply not reading from autocue.

I never found him particularly impressive simply reading an autocue either.

I thought he was quite good, but I like Trevor, so maybe thats just my opinion. His humour is quite different to other guest presenters who have done the programme. Thought it was quite funny when he implicated himself in a situation with rentboys!

Although I admit to having had a couple of drinks last night, I thought the programme was uproariously funny.

I'm quite prepared to beleive it was all in the edit though - as I've never been a particular fan of McDonald.

Doing News At Ten he really struggled without autocue. Ad-libbing just wasn't his thing, whereas we could rely on Dermot or John Suchet to pick up seamlessly whenever anything went wrong or if something off the cuff was needed.
