The only fact that I am able to confirm is that Sophie is going to the Ten. Cannot comment on the others.

As per my post several weeks ago, it was my understanding that the One, Six and Weekends/Bank Holiday's would all be covered by a pool of current presenters, who would crop up at random, rather than having specific presenters who are handcuffed to a specific bulletin (a bit like BBC News was in the late 70's / early 80's).

The only bulletin to have a fixed presenter will be the 10, but Sophie and Huw will split the load a bit more evenly that is currently the case with Fiona (who only does Friday's, if I recall correctly).

George to BBC World, or back out into the field??????

When will this shake up of presenters happen?

Sophie on the 10 - you ARE joking?

You have to have someone heavyweight to do the 10, not lightweight Newsround fodder like Sophie.

What are they playing at.

It seems to me that the presenters on N24 are getting better and better (what's the name of the woman on 7-11 with Jon Sopel, she's excellent - young and female and not a bit lightweight) and those on 1/6/10 are getting worse.

Are they trying to make the 1/6/10 into thicko-friendly news so that the dunces at least get some news with the rest of us who actually want to watch the news relying on N24?

I can confirm from an inside source that it is unlikely that Sian will join the pool of presenters to cover all bulletins, but will stay as the main breakfast anchor with Bill Turnbull. Dermot Murnaghan and Natasha Kaplinsky, along with Fiona Bruce are amongst likely additions to the pool. Other likely names in the hat are Matthew Amroliwala, Jane Hill and Phillip Hayton... all will be revealed soon though i suppose!!!!

If you mean Kate Silverton (funky glasses, flicky out hair etc.) who also pundits on The Wright Stuff - I can't agree. She looks great on camera, but seems completely out of her depth during lives...

So are the news desk updates staying - I hope not. So will Moira be on the main part of the programme.

I have heard a rumour that the whole programme will retrun to desk-presented format, just like in the early days of Jeremy and Sophie, with a smaller sofa area for the last half hour only.

Rumours that the newscaster will feature at one side of the main desk, and there will be a main biz presenter in the studio, with a markets reporter at the LSE. That seat will also be the same one used by the Sports Presenter.

Apparently, Breakfast has come in for some criticism as being too tabloidy, and there is a desire to make it more newsy and sturdy again.
