The live coverage of the return was somewhat wrecked on News24 by the use of banners and astons all over the place. Why can't they reframe incoming material or even better drop the graphics - as they have done for the repeat coverage

I thought ITV News coverage was very good with studio guests and reporters in main places

It was dark. You could see bugger all anyway!

What there was to see was obscured!

ITV News also seemed excessive as well, because their captions at the bottom of the screen seemed to obscure quite a bit of the picture at the bottom.

ITV News had a small LIVE graphic on landing and that was it...

Well N24 used the 2-line strap when the shuttle landed, and ITV kept their screen clear aside from the live graphic in the lower left corner. I didnt see the coverage on Sky of the actual landing, but I know that they had the usual 'news flash' graphic up before and immediatly after the landing, and had this still been on screen as the craft approached and rolled out along the runway, this probably would have ruined the picture. As has been said though, it was so dark you could hardly see anything anyway, so its not like the graphics made much difference.
